Day 3 Hike the Striking Canyons of Paklenica National Park

Today, tackle an out-and-back trail amid awe-inspiring gorges and stunning rock formations in lesser known Paklenica National Park. Ascend the slopes of massive Velebit Mountain, passing through shaded beech and pine forests to more open rocky terrain, revealing gorgeous views of the canyons. The vertical rock faces of Anica Kuk, a popular climbing peak, come into view and you may even see mountain goats perched on the cliffs. Hike a little further for a truly Croatian experience. Your lunch has been prepared using a traditional cooking method, pod pekom (under the bell). Cooked in a stone hearth, the pot is covered with a large bell-shaped lid and piled over with glowing embers. You'll get to taste the results when you arrive! After savoring this culinary experience, make your way back to the trailhead and travel to Skradin, a historic port town nestled into a crook of the graceful Krka River.

Day 4 Paddle the Adriatic & Explore Zlarin Island Coves
