Day 2 Travel to Plitvice Lakes National Park & Marvel at Waterfalls

This morning you'll head to UNESCO-listed Plitvice Lakes National Park and truly immerse yourself in nature, walking right over the shimmering waters of this geological wonder. Weave through a series of turquoise lakes, fed by countless waterfalls tumbling from moss-covered cliffs, following a series of boardwalks and nature paths. The trail offers stunning panoramic views of the falls, as well as up-close encounters with the park's extraordinary karst formations and diverse flora. Spot colorful fish darting through translucent waters below your feet, hear the exhilarating roar of waterfalls, and breathe in the fresh scent of the surrounding beech and pine forests. Witness dramatic Veliki Slap (Great Waterfall)—the tallest in the park at 255 feet—rushing over a towering cliff. Tonight, you will stay inside this exceptional park.

Day 3 Hike the Striking Canyons of Paklenica National Park

Today, tackle an out-and-back trail amid awe-inspiring gorges and stunning rock formations in lesser known Paklenica National Park. Ascend the slopes of massive Velebit Mountain, passing through shaded beech and pine forests to more open rocky terrain, revealing gorgeous views of the canyons. The vertical rock faces of Anica Kuk, a popular climbing peak, come into view and you may even see mountain goats perched on the cliffs. Hike a little further for a truly Croatian experience. Your lunch has been prepared using a traditional cooking method, pod pekom (under the bell). Cooked in a stone hearth, the pot is covered with a large bell-shaped lid and piled over with glowing embers. You'll get to taste the results when you arrive! After savoring this culinary experience, make your way back to the trailhead and travel to Skradin, a historic port town nestled into a crook of the graceful Krka River.

Day 4 Paddle the Adriatic & Explore Zlarin Island Coves

Discover Krka's rich cultural history, from Bronze Age hillforts to Roman settlements and 18th century water mills. Walk along cascading falls, including the magnificent, multi-tiered Skradinski buk, listening to the sounds of the water rushing over rock. Wander cobblestone streets, exploring travertine-walled mills and learning how they harnessed the power of the river to grind grain. The importance of this resource led to the construction of early hydroelectric power stations here in the 19th century. Day 6 Raft the Cetina River & Tour Split’s Amazing Architecture

Board rafts and paddle downstream past limestone cliffs and fern-fringed waterfalls, keeping an eye out for birdlife. The current carries you over frothy rapids, pairing fun thrills with wild beauty—no experience necessary! Depart the river for an urban excursion into the celebrated city of Split. Wander through the centuries on cobblestone streets and paved roads, exploring the intersection of historic architecture and modern Dalmatian life. The true gem at the heart of the city is UNESCO-listed Diocletian's Palace, which you will have free time to explore. This massive 4th century Roman-era complex has been incorporated into the city, so that you will find delightful cafes through stone arches and charming shops tucked into castle walls.
