G Adventures: Classic Alexandria Mini Adventure
Day 1: Cairo
Meet your fellow travellers and CEO for a welcome briefing at 12:30pm before heading out to explore the city. We'll head first to ancient Coptic Cairo, where we visit the Hanging Church, St Sergius Church, and Ben Ezra Synagogue. Continue to Islamic Cairo with visits to the Citadel and Mohamed Ali mosque. Take a felucca ride on the Nile before heading to downtown Cairo for a foodie tour.
Day 2: Cairo/Alexandria
Travel to Alexandria, stopping to visit the Monasteries of Wadi Natrun en route. Founded by Alexander the Great around 331BC, Alexandria is Egypt's only Mediterranean city with a distinctly European atmosphere. After a seafood lunch, head to the fort and citadel of Qaitbay, and the new Alexandria Library.
Day 3: Alexandria/Cairo
Continue exploring this beautiful city with a walk through the Montazah Summer Palace gardens and a visit to the ancient Roman theatre. Gaze up at Pompey's Pillar and explore the underground catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. Enjoy lunch then travel back to Cairo where the tour ends.
