Day 2PHOENIX/SCOTTSDALE–SEDONA–WILLIAMS Travel north, stopping at the pre-Columbian cliff dwellings at Montezuma Castle National Monument. This fascinating historical site offers a glimpse into the lives of the Sinagua people who called this area home from approximately A.D. 600 to 1450. Then spend time among the famed red rocks of Sedona. See Bell Rock, a vortex known for its perceived spiritual energy. Have time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and shops or go on an optional backcountry 4-wheel-drive Jeep tour. Late afternoon arrival into Williams, a town situated along historic Route 66.
Day 3WILLIAMS–GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK–CAMERON–TUBA CITY This morning, see one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World—the Grand Canyon! At 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and a mile deep, it is a spectacular sight to behold! Enjoy the majesty of the vibrantly colored hues of the canyon walls and consider a once-in-a-lifetime adventure on an optional helicopter flightseeing tour with stunning views of the Canyon from above. Stop at the Cameron Trading Post, a site over 100 years old where Navajo & Hopi locals used to barter, to see Native American handmade jewelry, Indian baskets, Pueblo pottery, and more before overnighting in Tuba City. Day 4TUBA CITY–MONUMENT VALLEY–MOAB Journey across the Navajo Nation to Monument Valley, the site of countless classic Western films. See the scenic desert vistas and massive formations while on a 4-wheel drive tour with a knowledgeable Navajo guide. It’s an immersive experience you won’t soon forget! Continue north to Moab for the next two nights. (B)
Day 5MOAB. EXCURSION TO ARCHES NATIONAL PARK–CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK–DEAD HORSE POINT STATE PARK Get ready for a day of diversity and wonder! First head to Arches National Park, home to over 2,000 natural stone arches and hundreds of soaring pinnacles. Next, enter Utah’s largest national park, Canyonlands, with its vast landscape of canyons, mesas, and buttes. Lastly, stop at Dead Horse Point State Park, an immense desert landscape and the filming location of Thelma & Louise’s famous cliff-ending scene. This evening is at leisure. (B)
Day 6MOAB–CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK–BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK Departing Moab, drive through Capitol Reef National Park, given its name by early settlers who thought the white domes of the Navajo Sandstone resembled the dome of the U.S. Capitol building. Then take one of America’s most beautiful drives down Scenic Byway 12 to Bryce Canyon. This designated All-American Road, also known as “A Journey Through Time,” traces more than 200 million years of natural and human history. Enjoy the dramatic and diverse landscapes and expansive views as you travel through the heart of canyon country. Late afternoon arrival in Bryce Canyon. (B)
Day 7BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK–HURRICANE Explore wondrous Bryce Canyon National Park famous for its vibrantly colored pinnacles called hoodoos. Millions of years of wind, water, and ice have sculpted the landscape and created more hoodoos in Bryce Canyon than anywhere else on Earth. Later, head south for an overnight in Hurricane, UT. (B)
Day 8HURRICANE–ZION NATIONAL PARK–LAS VEGAS Complete the tour of Utah’s Mighty Five with a visit to Zion National Park with its steep canyons, diverse vegetation, and stone cliffs of cream, pink, and red soaring into the sky. Have time to explore via hiking trails or taking the Park’s free shuttle. Early afternoon, depart for the dazzling sea of neon lights of Las Vegas. Tonight, have time to explore ‘The Strip’ lined with shops, restaurants and over-the-top casinos and live entertainment. (B)
Day 9LAS VEGAS Your vacation ends this morning. You may choose to extend your vacation with extra nights and explore Las Vegas further.
