Day 1
Arrive Bozeman & on to Paradise Valley
Tour Begins: 5:00 PM, Sage Lodge. A transfer is included from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport to your hotel, Sage Lodge nestled in the heart of Paradise Valley and the shadows of the Absaroka Mountains. Tonight, join your fellow adventurers for a welcome reception and dinner.
Paradise awaits you on this full day of activities in Montana's great outdoors. Notorious for its stunning scenic landscapes and close proximity to Yellowstone National Park, Paradise Valley is truly "heaven on earth." This morning, visit a local ranch for a horseback riding experience complimented by beautiful views of the surrounding Paradise Valley. This afternoon, try your hand at the art of fly casting and discover how fly fishing is not just a pastime here—it's a proud tradition woven into the fabric of Montana's culture. In-between activities you'll have free time to do as you wish. Dinner tonight will be served at the lodge.
After breakfast, set out for a full day immersed in the natural wonders of Yellowstone. Discover some of the park's most iconic landscapes, including Mammoth Hot Springs, the Lamar Valley, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Keep watch as you travel through the Lamar Valley, one of the park's premier wildlife-viewing areas, where you may spot bison, wolves, bears, pronghorn, and more. Later this afternoon, continue to your hotel, located just steps from the legendary Old Faithful Geyser. Named in 1870 for its frequent and remarkably predictable eruptions, Old Faithful erupts approximately every 90 minutes, sending water as high as 180 feet into the air. After settling in, gather for dinner at the hotel's restaurant.
Start your day with a local guide on a morning walk through the Upper Geyser Basin. Old Faithful may be the best-known geyser in America's first national park, but it's just one of some 10,000 geothermal features that shape this extraordinary landscape. Along the way, your guide shares insights into the park's history and geology as you take in the distinctive sights, sounds, and even smells of this otherworldly setting. Later, visit Fountain Paint Pot, where bubbling mud pots, colorful hot springs, geysers, and steaming fumaroles reveal Yellowstone's hydrothermal activity up close. The remainder of the day is yours to experience Yellowstone as you wish. Visit the Old Faithful Visitor Center, rent a bicycle, hike to Observation Point for a bird's-eye view of an Old Faithful eruption, or simply relax with a cold drink on the second-floor deck of the Old Faithful Inn.
This morning, journey south through Grand Teton National Park and continue to the mountain town of Jackson. Visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art, home to a world-class collection of more than 5,000 works, including pieces by Georgia O'Keeffe, Andy Warhol, and Carl Rungius. See works by Thomas Moran, whose paintings of the Yellowstone region helped inspire support for preserving the landscape that would become the world's first national park. Spend the next three nights at The Cloudveil, ideally located just off Jackson's central square. Tonight is yours to enjoy as you wish - stroll along historic wooden sidewalks, browse local art galleries, and dine at one of Jackson's many restaurants, all beneath the timeless gaze of the Teton Range.
The morning is at leisure to enjoy as you wish. Indulge in the amenities of your hotel or explore the quintessential western town of Jackson on your own; your hotel is just steps away from Jackson Hole's iconic Town Square with its famous antler arches. Alternatively, join your Tauck Director for an excursion to Snow King Mountain, located on the edge of town. Ride a gondola to the mountaintop for stunning panoramic views of the Tetons and the town below. After lunch on your own, visit the Teton Raptor Center, a non-profit organization founded to help advance raptor conservation through education, research and rehabilitation. Enjoy an opportunity to meet some of the organization's feathered friends.
Tonight, following dinner on your own in Jackson, you may either enjoy time to spend as you wish, or, join us for an evening of western culture and fun at the Jackson Hole Rodeo*, a beloved tradition since 1890!
*The Jackson Hole Rodeo is only available on Wednesdays & Saturdays (Memorial Day to Labor Day), Fridays during July and August.
An early morning drive explores Grand Teton National Park. Located just south of Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park spans over 300,000 acres and features the dramatic Teton Range, with its highest peak, Grand Teton, rising to 13,775 feet. View diverse landscapes of alpine terrain, glacial lakes, forests, and the winding Snake River, and take the opportunity to spot any wildlife along the way, including moose, elk, pronghorn, bison, bears, and birds. Return to Jackson, where the rest of the afternoon is free. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a farewell reception at your hotel, followed by dinner at the Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse; its walls tell the story of the legendary Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, one of the top cowboy bars found on either side of the Mississippi River.
Tour Ends: Jackson. Fly home anytime. A transfer is included from your hotel to Jackson Hole Airport. Please allow a minimum of two hours for check-in.
All fares are quoted in US Dollars.
