Active Elements, Epic Scenery, Iconic Landmarks, Rural Charm Experience Scotland’s rugged soul on this small group adventure through the Highlands, islands, and Outer Hebrides, rich in myth, history, and wild beauty.

Trip Overview:

This small group experience (maximum 16 participants) gets you off the beaten track so you get a real feel for the country. Our guides are hand-picked for their pride and passion for their country. Transportation is in modern Mercedes Benz mini-coaches and accommodation is in a variety of three star hotels.

Uncover the wild soul of Scotland on a journey that spans the storied Lowlands, dramatic Highlands, and windswept islands of the Outer Hebrides. Departing from Edinburgh, this immersive adventure takes you past Stirling Castle and into the majestic landscapes of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, before winding through the Arrochar Alps and onwards to the harbour town of Oban.

From here, island-hopping begins. Explore Mull’s green pastures and mystical lochs, stroll through sacred Iona, and gaze into the surreal geology of Staffa. On Skye, discover the Quiraing, Old Man of Storr, and windswept coastal cliffs steeped in myth. Mainland highlights include Glencoe’s haunting beauty, Eilean Donan Castle, and a glimpse of the elusive Nessie at Loch Ness.

In the far north, ferry to Orkney’s rugged shores and trace the footsteps of Vikings and Neolithic settlers at Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar. Then it’s onward to the quiet splendour of Sutherland and the mystical sea caves of Durness, before arriving in the fishing village of Ullapool.

Continue your odyssey on the Outer Hebrides, where the traditions of Lewis and Harris echo through crofting villages, blackhouses, and ancient stone circles. With sweeping beaches, dramatic cliffs, and Gaelic culture around every bend, this trip offers a stirring sense of place and a deeper connection to Scotland’s enduring spirit.

Begin your next day on the Isle of Harris, where craggy peaks rise sharply above sweeping moors and silence reigns. In this rugged land shaped by wind and sea, every mountain has a tale, every loch a legend. After a pause in the harbour village of Tarbert, the journey takes you to some of Harris’s most striking corners, culminating at the breathtaking Luskentyre beach, where silver sands and turquoise waters offer a scene more Caribbean than Caledonian.

From Harris, cross the sea to the Isle of Skye and arrive in Uig, where the Trotternish Peninsula stretches north in a sweep of dramatic cliffs and curious rock formations. Weather adds to the magic—mists cling to jagged ridges, then lift to reveal distant sea views as you arrive in Portree for the night.

The next day is devoted to Skye’s wild beauty. See the surreal shapes of the Quiraing, hear the ancient echoes at Dunvegan Castle, and watch weather paint the hills in shifting light. After a final evening in Portree, filled with Highland fare and perhaps a tune or two, journey south past the Cuillin Hills and back to the mainland.

From Eilean Donan Castle to Glencoe’s sombre majesty, the road home offers one final sweep through Scotland’s ever-changing, endlessly captivating landscapes.
