Day 1 Interlaken

Start your Tops of Europe experience by traveling with your Swiss Card from any airport or rail station to Interlaken.

The Swiss Card provides rail transportation from any Swiss airport or border town to a single Swiss destination for less money than point-to-point tickets. Your Card also provides 50% discount on additional excursions and attractions purchased locally.

Today you have an included excursion to the Jungfraujoch, known world-wide as the “Top of Europe.” The Jungfraujoch is a saddle between the Mönch and the Jungfrau amongst the Bernese Alps in the Jungfrau-Aletsch Protected Area, and is the lowest point on the mountain ridge between Mönch and Jungfrau.

Included Jungfraujoch Excursion: Board a unique, modern cogwheel railway to Kleine Scheidegg at 6,762 feet. From there, the Jungfrau railway climbs to the Eiger Glacier station, well known for its mountain restaurant and polar dog kennels. Then continue through the Eiger tunnel stopping to enjoy spectacular vistas on the way to the highest railway station in Europe, The Jungfraujoch.

Included Mt Pilatus Excursion: Travel by train or boat to Alpnachstad and by the world’s steepest cogwheel railway (48% gradient) to Mt. Pilatus. Then after plenty of free time to enjoy your experience before returning by cable car and bus via Kriens to Lucerne.
