Pacific Coast Adventure And California Redwoods
Day 1ARRIVE IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON Welcome to the “Emerald City!” At 6:30 pm, meet your travel companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.
Day 2SEATTLE–MULTNOMAH FALLS–PORTLAND, OREGON Cascades & Craft Beer Explore Seattle on a guided tour including the Pike Place Market, Belltown, and the Queen Anne area. Then travel south for lunch at a local restaurant and a visit to Multnomah Falls, the highest waterfall in Oregon. Continue to Portland for an orientation tour and free time.Explore one of the many craft breweries, music venues, or waterfront restaurants downtown on the Willamette River. (B,L)

CITY SIGHTS Experience the vibrant energy of Seattle’s authentic farmer’s market that tempts the senses with an array of aromas, eats, and friendly people. Pike Place Market has been a gathering place and bustling market for more than a century as one of the oldest operating farmer’s markets in the U.S. Visitors and locals alike are drawn to the energy and extraordinary array of farm-fresh produce, paper-wrapped flowers, shops, restaurants, bars, fishmongers, street performers, and the first Starbucks – all mixing a rich blend of coffee culture and true Seattle style.

NATURAL WONDERS Native American lore tells the story of a young princess who sacrificed her life on the falls to save her village from illness. This legendary spectacle of roaring waterfalls of Multnomah Falls plunges from 620 feet in a thunderous cascade of icy water and mist. Enjoy spectacular views of the two-tier waterfall in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge, the only sea-level route through the Cascade Mountains.
Day 3PORTLAND–McMINNVILLE–NEWPORTRugged & Rosy Discover why Portland is called the “City of Roses” with a visit to Washington Park and the International Rose Test Gardens. Depart Portland for the Willamette Wine Valley and on to charming McMinnville for lunch. Visit the rugged Oregon coast and Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Learn about the headland’s importance to the indigenous tribes of the area. The lighthouse remains the tallest on the Oregon Coast and has been guiding ships safely to shore since 1873. Continue to Newport, one of Oregon’s most popular seaside resort town.This evening, enjoy a special [LF] dinner on the water at Clearwater Restaurant featuring local regional wine and a room with a view for a 2-night stay in Newport at the Elizabeth Oceanfront Suites. Day 4NEWPORTMarine Life & Light Enjoy a full day at leisure on the Oregon Coast. Walk along the beach to enjoy ocean views, birds and sunbathing sea lions, explore the tide pools at Yaquina Head, consider a visit to the Hatfield Marine Science Center at Oregon State University, or an optional excursion kayak adventure. Day 5NEWPORT–FLORENCE–NORTH BEND Sand, Sea & A Sailors’ Sentinel As you travel down the coast today, enjoy highlights of the Pacific Northwest including Heceta Head Lighthouse and Florence Old Town, followed by a visit to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America. Continue to the quaint village of North Bend for dinner and your bayside hotel. (B,D)

EXPLORE MORE in North Bend and Coos Bay, known as Oregon’s Adventure Coast. Home to Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, sandy Horsfall Beach, historic McCullough Bridge, North Bend Boardwalk and walking trails, plus a diverse mix of dining and shopping downtown.
Day 6NORTH BEND–GOLD BEACH–REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK, CALIFORNIA–EUREKACoastal Giants Travel south to one of Oregon’s great natural treasures, the scenic Rogue River, tumbling over 200 miles from the Cascade Mountains into the Pacific Ocean, and embark on a thrilling [LF] jetboat ride. Continue along the Pacific coastline and stop in Redwood National Park, home to the world’s tallest trees. Then, enter Eureka, California’s lumber center, where you have a photo stop at the grand Carson Mansion—one of the most photographed examples of Victorian architecture in the world and once the home of William Carson, a West Coast lumber baron. EPIC RIDE Visit Gold Beach and experience an exciting jetboat ride on the Rogue River through this wild and remote region. Watch for local wildlife in the canyon, black sand beaches, and the American bald eagle as you cruise through Southern Oregon.
Day 7EUREKA–HUMBOLDT REDWOODS STATE PARK - SONOMA COUNTY–SAN FRANCISCO Reach for the Sky! This morning, travel to Humboldt Redwoods State Park for the spectacular Avenue of the Giants. Visit the award-winning [LF] Francis Ford Coppola Winery en route to San Francisco for a wine tasting, tour, and adventure through cinematic history. Continue to the “City by the Bay,” San Francisco, for a 2-night stay. (B)

Take a walking food tour in San Francisco to savor local tastes and learn about the culinary and cultural history of Little Italy. Enjoy murals and architecture.

BIKE THE BRIDGE
Experience the Golden Gate Bridge on a bike! Enjoy a guided bike tour across the Golden Gate Bridge, from San Francisco to Sausalito. Enjoy leisure time in Sausalito's quaint downtown before riding back to San Francisco.
Tonight, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Wonderful conversation and cuisine make the perfect finale to your vacation. (B,D)
