Nairobi, the “Green City in the Sun,” melds urban energy and untamed wilderness. Just half an hour from the city center, at Nairobi National Park skyscrapers are a backdrop for encounters with endangered black rhinos, lions, giraffes and zebras.

Arrive by airat your exclusive lodge on communal Maasai land in the path of the highly trafficked, seasonal elephant migration. Your luxurious cottage — complete with a rooftop star bed and a private plunge pool — provides can’t-miss views of the surrounding wilderness.

Amble through the exclusive concession in a 4x4 safari vehicle, keeping your eyes peeled for cheetahs, fringe-eared oryx, gerenuk and giraffes.
