Located on the picturesque east coast of Iceland, Fosshotel Eastfjords is housed in a historic building built in 1903 and was previously used as a hospital for French fishermen. In 1939, the house was then disassembled and moved. In 2008, a decision was made to reassemble the house at its original location, and renovate it into a hotel.

In 2016, the hotel's renovations received the European Heritage Awards from the European Commission and Europa Nostra.

Guest rooms are outfitted on a contemporary style with welcoming natural colors and classic motifs that give a nod to the property's French roots. Tile ensuite bathroom and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property ensure a comfortable and connected stay for the discerning guest. Some of the guest rooms overlook the water.

The surrounding area of Faskrudsfjordur is renowned for its magnificent nature and scenery, and the property boasts a stunning view of the fjord from the end of the dock and from the French-inspired onsite restaurant, L'Abri, which serves dishes made with local ingredients sourced farmers and fisherman from the area. There is also an onsite museum dedicated to French fisherman.
