Day 3 Exploring Tarangire National Park
Today you have a morning and afternoon game drive in the Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park stretches over 7,722 square-miles with its vast number of baobab trees. The Tarangire River acts as the lifeblood for very large herds of elephant and buffalo, which roam the land year-round, coming down to the river to bathe and quench their thirst. It is an impressive sight to see herds of over 500 elephant in one panoramic view. The park boasts the largest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem.

Day 4 Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater via Lake Manyara National Park
This morning transfer to the airstrip and fly by scheduled flight to Lake Manyara Airstrip. Upon arrival board your safari vehicle for game viewing in Lake Manyara National Park. Although it is one of Tanzania's smaller wildlife enclaves, Lake Manyara National Park is a spectacular reserve that boasts an incredible diversity of terrain, as well as plant and animal species. After your game experience you will transfer overland to your Ngorongoro accommodation.

Day 5 Exploring Ngorongoro Crater
Today you will explore the Ngorongoro Crater, largest perfect caldera in the world. This outstanding wonder is only one of the attractions within a vast and diverse conservation area. High mountain forest extends to the lip of the crater. Among the branches of the dense green canopy, a variety of bird species search for food in the partial gloom. The forest then recedes to give breathtaking views of the crater's vertiginous void. Grazers dominate with zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, eland, hartebeest, warthogs and intriguingly, only bull elephant. Lion and hyena frequent the many ponds, with and kori bustard are the distinctive grassland birds. The swamps, ponds and rivers support an ever-present population of water birds. Enjoy game viewing on the crater floor before ascending to the crater rim and returning to your accommodation.

Day 7 Exploring Serengeti National Park
Spend the day exploring the Serengeti National Park - morning and afternoon game drives will be enjoyed with lunch included at the lodge. Serengeti comes from the Masai word 'Siringit' meaning 'the place where the land runs on forever' and refers to the flat grassy plains which make up about a third of the park. It is these grasslands and savannas that ensure that the area is jam-packed full of game. There are animals here at any time of the year, but from May to October, the area teems with life, including wildebeest, zebra, impala, warthogs, topi, gazelles and hyena. Lion, leopard, cheetah and caracal are also found in the region. The Serengeti is well known for the wildebeest migration, when every year two million animals move clockwise around this 5,700 square-miles ecosystem in search of grazing and water (Migration movement cannot be predicted and therefore viewing the migration is not guaranteed during game viewing in the Serengeti National Park). The predators follow the wildebeest and zebra closely and a Serengeti Safari is an ideal opportunity to view lions and other big cats.

Featured Destinations
Arusha
Arusha is the safari capital of East Africa, a bustling, vibrant town with the streets filled with 4X4 game viewing vehicles criss-crossing the potholed roads. Maasai warriors in full regalia stroll the streets, mingling with tourists in crisp khaki, fresh off the plane from Europe or the United States.
Tarangire
As you enter Tarangire National Park a vast number of baobabs catch your eye. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. The park is spectacular in the dry season when many migratory wildlife species come back to the waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas. Tarangire National Park is second only to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife and lies to the south of the large, open grass plains of southern Maasailand.
Ngorongoro
An ancient hole in northern Tanzania, Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's best wildlife-viewing spots since it acts like a natural cage; the crater's depth makes for a difficult escape for some animals, but most have no need to leave, finding plenty of resources inside. For the traveler, it means not only awesome wildlife viewing, but incredible views from accommodations on the crater's rim. Descend to the crater floor in a four-wheel drive; and once there just cruise around slowly and take in the scene — on any given day see lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, Thomson's gazelle, zebra, and reedbuck. The small soda lake inside the crater is also the seasonal home of thousands of flamingos.
Serengeti
Today, the Serengeti National Park helps protect the greatest and most varied collection of terrestrial wildlife on earth, and one of the last great migratory systems still intact. The Serengeti is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania's protected areas and has come to symbolize paradise. The region encompasses Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Maswa Game Reserve, the Loliondo, Grumeti and Ikorongo Controlled Areas and Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Two World Heritage Sites and two Biosphere Reserves have been established within the region. It's unique ecosystem has inspired writers and filmakers as well as numerous photographers and scientists. The essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. Some patterns of life, death, adaptation and migration are as old as the hills themselves.
