Overview
Formerly the Sweelinck Conservatory of Music, nowadays a luxury hotel – the Conservatorium hotel is known as 'Amsterdam's living room', evoking glamour and elegance. Located in the museum and fashion district, the cultural heart of the city, the Conservatorium is an architectural masterpiece combining a landmark heritage building with contemporary design. This city's crown jewels – the Concertgebouw, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark and Amsterdam's most indulgent shopping – are literally on your doorstep.
The Conservatorium hotel occupies eight floors with room categories ranging from Deluxe Rooms to signature suites and a spacious Penthouse. Paying homage to the building's original lofty ceilings, almost half of the rooms have been transformed into stunning duplex layout with large windows and exposed structural beams.
Conservatorium hotel is also home to the award-winning Akasha – an urban retreat that is the perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy. Spanning over 1000 square meters / 10764 square feet, Akasha is the finest holistic spa in Amsterdam offering a range of signature treatments, massages, marrying innovative Western practices with ancient Eastern traditions and featuring indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, Hammam, sauna, Watsu pool and relaxation areas.
Taiko, the award-wining restaurant of the Conservatorium Hotel, was created by Executive Chef, Schilo van Coevorden to honor beautiful flavors and textures from across the Far East. The dishes are modern-Asian inspired, the appearance is international and the atmosphere is Amsterdam-casual.
BARBOUNIA is a culinary haven inspired by the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the warm spirit of ‘La dolce vita’. A celebration of authentic cuisine from the South of France, Italy and Greece.
