Graceful deco design features and heritage influences come together with contemporary touches in our spacious Superior Rooms.
Taking their cues from the glamour of Claridge’s in the 1920s and 1930s, the art deco bedrooms pair mellow tones with geometric lines and polished glass accents. While our collection of traditionally styled Superior King Rooms are a perfectly balanced blend of chic and comfortable.
Claridge’s has held a strong royal connection since the 1860s and it was during this time that Queen Victoria and her dear friend Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III and Empress of France, visited Claridge’s. When The Empress set sail across the Channel to Claridge’s, her home away from home, her Mistress of Robes – The Duchess of Rivoli – was always by her side.
Our unique Superior King, the Duchess of Rivoli Room, echoes the traditional design and French flair of the Empress Eugenie Suite. The Duchess of Rivoli Room was inspired by the Duchess herself, along with the garments and jewelry that she chose for The Empress.
The Mayfair Balcony Room celebrates all the history of Claridge's, pairing original features and contemporary touches with stunning views across the city. Our Mayfair Balcony King category draws on the design and motifs from the hotel's past, and includes rooms in traditional and art deco style. The former feature period details such as gilded cornices, while the latter are inspired by the fashions and patterns of the 1930s. This attention to detail continues in the polished marble bathrooms where the taps and brassware have been custom made to an original Claridge's design. Amenities include flat screen TVs and air conditioning, with some rooms also offering USB charging points.
A modern-day homage to the Art Deco era, a Claridge's Balcony Room blends contemporary comfort and historic charm, with magnificent views across the rooftops of London. These spacious rooms pair the latest comforts with a timeless design aesthetic. Classic rooms include features such as floor-to-ceiling mirrors and rich wooden headboards, balanced against a light, neutral color palette. In the Art Deco rooms, shagreen lamps and hand-crafted side tables draw on original Claridge's designs.
Every room at Claridge’s has been carefully considered to the last detail – and a Claridge’s Studio is no different. Available in both classic and art deco styles, these rooms feature hand-stitched fabrics and finely-crafted furnishings, alongside personally-selected antique pieces.
These one-bedroom suites feature large living areas, plenty of wardrobe space, elegant original features and more than a touch of Claridge’s charm.
Alongside the creature comforts, you will find all the technology you could possibly need. Stream, browse, entertain, work or simply relax in the extra-deep bath.

It was here in 1945 that the exiled Yugoslavian royal family welcomed Crown Prince Alexander into the world. Winston Churchill even had home soil placed under the bed, and declared the room Yugoslavian territory – for just one day.
Today, the interiors reflect this illustrious history. Gold leaf accents, velvets and hand-embroidered silks set a palatial scene. French wall mouldings and features inspired by the Yugoslavian coat of arms sit alongside Victorian-era garlanded acanthus plasterwork. While the grand piano, restored dining table and personal butler are the jewels in the crown in a suite that’s made for entertaining.
Fashion may be fleeting, but true style endures. The Grand Piano Suite is testament to this, created for Claridge’s by couturier – and friend of the hotel – Diane von Furstenberg.
Her inimitable style is woven into the space, from signature materials such as velvet and silk, to the iconic silhouettes that influence each detail. Step into instant calm, with a peaceful palette of turquoise and blush tones, cut through with layered textures, gold accents and occasional splashes of colour. In the master bedroom through to the palatial living room and library, where the Grand Piano stands, a harmonious mix of vintage pieces and contemporary furnishings reflect Diane’s timeless style. While curated artwork is inspired both by her own collections and most recent collaboration with Claridge’s – the Tree of Love, from Christmas 2018.
Stepping into the entrance hall, you are immersed in rich history and regal grandeur, with carefully crafted details that blend tradition with the height of contemporary comfort.

Georgian grandeur and contemporary flair are woven into the fabric of a Brook Suite.
Delicate silks, brocade, antique gold patina and beautifully intricate embroidery, created using a century-old loom speak to both Georgian and Victorian style. Settle in for cocktails beside the fireplace, dress for dinner with walk-in wardrobes for two, and entertain around the six-person dining table.
Floral motifs pay homage to the royal bond between Queen Victoria and Empress Eugenie, who met here at Claridge’s. Delicate by design yet powerful in their symbolism, each white rose and daisy has been carefully chosen, hand painted and intricately embroidered.

At Claridge's we've been observing this delightful aspect of our nation's culinary heritage for the best part of 150 years. For a century or more, our Executive Chefs have remained faithful to the classic combination of finger sandwiches, scones served warm, and sweet pastries. Our ingredients are painstakingly sourced, skilfully prepared and served fresh each day. The centerpiece of afternoon tea is, of course, the drink itself. Our wonderful tea connoisseur, Henrietta Lovell, has scoured the world to bring us delicious tea from small, little known producers from the four corners of the world. Working hand in hand with our Executive Chef, Martyn Nail, they have carefully selected teas that will complement your food perfectly. Set in the splendour of Thierry Despont's magnificent Foyer, inspired by the 1930s' heyday of art deco, Afternoon Tea at Claridge's is truly a magical experience.
Recently fully restored by leading interiors guru Guy Oliver, the Ballroom, and neighbouring Mirror Room, have been designed to echo the original décor first introduced to the hotel by Oswald Milne and Basil Ionides in the late 1920s. Using colours reminiscent of that era, eau de Nil, sable, chocolate, olive and silver, the subtle detailing extends to platinum leaf covered pillars, hand-engraved mirrors and contemporary Art Deco fan design carpet.

In partnership with Ben Brown Fine Arts, Claridge’s ArtSpace presents a major solo exhibition of works by Italian conceptual artist, Alighiero Boetti. Born in Turin in 1940, Boetti’s art is steeped in his diverse, theoretical interests and travels around the world. Rising to fame as part of the Arte Povera movement in the 1960s, he is perhaps best known for his later Mappa series – 150 eye-catching embroidered maps that weave together ideas of time, unity and shifting geopolitical relationships.
Boetti is represented in leading public collections worldwide, and his iconic Map of the World is on permanent display at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. This summer, Boetti’s philosophical, poetic oeuvre is celebrated across Claridge’s ArtSpace and Ben Brown Fine Arts' flagship Mayfair gallery on Brook’s Mews.
