Gourmet dining is an essential component of the Savanna experience with traditional local dishes adding spice and variety to the best international fare. Savanna offers three room types to suit individual needs. The thatched Savanna Suite is ideal for families or small groups wishing to share private time together in elegant, stylish surroundings. The suite consists of two en-suite bedrooms each boasting a lounge area and covered wooden deck with private heated plunge pool. These rooms lead into a central beautifully appointed lounge, providing an idyllic 'home away from home' safari option. Seven of the nine rooms offer an 'Out of Africa' experience with canvas roofs above draped linen ceilings blending the elegance of a by-gone colonial era with the convenience of modern facilities. All Suites boast a wooden deck with private plunge pool.

Savanna encompasses the very essence of an “Out of Africa” camp.

The Lodge has nine beautifully appointed Suites, seven of which has a tented roof and draped inner ceiling. These Suites offer the sophistication of a permanent structure which ensures luxury and privacy. There are three Executive suites, each of which has a private heated plunge pool, wooden deck and an indigenous garden area. The en-suite bathrooms feature a double wash basin, enclosed toilet, a French bath and an outside shower. The four Luxury suites are of equal standard though slightly smaller, but also offer a deck and private plunge pool and outside shower. All suites are air conditioned, have a tea/coffee station and a well stocked mini bar.

By Road:

From Johannesburg or Pretoria:- Take the N12, or N4 highway to Nelspruit. Follow the signboards towards White River. From White River, take the R40 to Hazyview. From Hazyview, turn right onto the R536 towards the Paul Kruger Gate. After approximately 34 km, there is a large Savanna Private Game Reserve sign on left hand side of road. Turn left onto the dirt road and travel for about 10 kms until you reach a large intersection, where you will notice small signs on the left indicating the lodges. Turn right here and follow this road for 1.8 km. At T junction turn left and after about 600m, turn left again. Follow this road for about 1 km until you arrive at Newington Gate, where you need to pay R80 entrance fee. Keep the slips, as you will need it on your departure.

From Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), follow the signs to White River From White River, take the R40 to Hazyview At Hazyview, turn right onto the R536 towards the Paul Kruger Gate. Approximately 34 km along this road, and just after the Saringwa River, you will notice a large Savanna Private Game Reserve sign on the left hand side of the road, indicating that you turn left (onto dirt road) Travel on this dirt road for approximately 10.5 kms and you will reach a large intersection with small signs on left indicating the various game lodges, including Savanna. Turn right here and follow the road until you reach a T-Junction. Turn left and again you will notice the Savanna sign indicating this. After approximately 500 metres there is another turning to the left (clearly indicated). Take this road and it is a short distance to the the Sabi Sand Game Reserve Entrance – Newington Gate. Once you have passed through the gate, turn left and follow the signs to the lodge (about 1km). You will be required to pay a R70-00 entrance fee.

Transfers – Road and Air

Daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town to Kruger Mpumulanga International Airport (near White River). Road transfers are offered from KMI Airport (MQP) in air conditioned vehicles - From R975 per vehicle one way (non commissionable)
Daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg to the Sabi Sands on Federal Air - From 01 Jan 08 - R1890 pp one way plus R200 landing and departure tax. Plus ACSA tax of R47 if departing from O.R. Tambo.
