Celebrity Apex - Life Changing Experience
May
Pros: 100% guest focused and perfection on every detail.
Cons: none
Recommended: Yes
This was my first cruise with a bonus of “quilting” on board. I was so impressed with the staff and crews’ professionalism. It is clear to me Celebrity makes it a priority to train their staff/crew to a high level of exceptional service for their guests. Amazing food and offerings on board.

Beautiful ship
May
Pros: Clean, responsive and friendly staff, quiet sleeping with comfortable beds, excellent food and beverage choices.
Cons: Cosmopolitan food service. Excursions nothing to get excited about.
Recommended: Yes
Server table assignments needs improvement. Many servers requesting the same drink or meal orders at once. Then there was nobody to follows up on menu requests like coffee service. Overall excursions disappointing. Excursion descriptions use words like woolen mill when in fact it was just a store not an experience. Or, interactive linen making. Not only did the demonstrator not know how to make linen, her talk was 5 minutes and threw a couple of threads around. Again misrepresenting the activity. Our tour guide was informative. Again, a lot of money to take us on a walk. We could have explored the ports better on our own with just transportation to get you out of the port.

Solo Travelers
March
Pros: The solo cabins are real nice.
Cons: Cost of being a SoloTraveler
Recommended: Yes
I have traveled many times on Celebrity. The cost for a solo traveler when a solo cabin is not available is so expensive( charge double occupancy). They need to charge less than double. Celebrity needs to have more meetup/meeting than on the day of disembarkation. While on the first day, the Celebrity staff person said you can all meet again, but there will not be a staff person here. They need to have more activities for the just the solo traveler. These comment are not to reflect that there are issues with this agency. I think the agency is great and I will always use Debbie Stack. She is the best.

Sky Suite and the Retreat lounge are good, the rest only okay
January
Pros: Spacious Sky Suite cabin; comfortable Retreat lounge; excellent Internet connection
Cons: Ship is crowded; food quality varies; crew service is average
Recommended: Yes
Thank goodness for the Retreat Lounge. It was a comfortable refuge from the crowds of this big ship. The concierge staff in the lounge were also very helpful in handling questions and requests. The Sky Suite cabin is the best I have enjoyed among this tier of cruise lines without getting into the pricey penthouse suites. It was spacious and comfortable. I really liked the “window” in the bathroom that allowed natural light in and made the bathroom feel even more spacious. My only gripe is that the room safe is really tiny. The food on the ship, unfortunately, is less than stellar. The buffet is abysmal. The food quality in the restaurants was hit and miss. I had some really excellent dishes, but also some real disappointments. The Luminae restaurant is exclusive for the Retreat class, but often had an uninspired menu and service was mediocre. I preferred the Blu restaurant, which had a better menu and better service. The waiters in Blu were also willing to let me order dishes from the main dining menus in addition to the Blu menu. This is not a cruise ship for families, which is fine by me. I saw only a handful of kids on the entire ship. Overall, I did enjoy the cruise. I would only cruise again in the Retreat class, though.
