Michael's review

December

Pros: Great ship, great suite (with deck with hot tub and two lounge chairs), staff was very nice (with one exception below). Georgette our Butler and Chris the Concierge were great.

Cons: Day in Kona, which required tenders, was unpleasant for our daughter (my wife Kerin and I stayed on board). Our daughter was given priority boarding due to our suite, but the staff was unpleasant to her and so were the passengers who waited in line to get on board. Not a good scence.

Recommended: Yes

See above. Also, the excursions were ridiculously expensive, so we only purchased one (actually, two, but the ship cancelled the one on the day we disembarked, which was fortunate, as it would have cost over $800 for three people and we figured out a much cheaper alternative).

Great way to visit three islands

December

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Average food on board

Recommended: Yes

We loved that we were in port every day and could see the highlights of Maui, the big island, and Kauai. We spent a few days before the cruise exploring Oahu so we got a great overall Hawaii experience!

Pride of America experience

October

Pros: Embarking and disembarking were excellent, quick and efficient.

Cons: Very poor service in dining room at Skyline and Liberty at scheduled/reserved dinner times

Recommended: No

Every night we had scheduled dinners the service was very slow. Each night it took at least 2 hours or more to get the food including dessert to us. The last night it was so slow we walked out because we were tired of waiting close to 3 hours to get our completed meal. We would even try to help the servers to get drink and meal orders in order person so they could remember which food would go to who. The last meal we were seated at 5:30 and had not recieved our dessert when we walked out at 8 PM. We were hoping to make other entertainment. The ice cream in the Aloha dining room was ice milk.

Old Ship

September

Pros: Nice cruise mates and crew were pleasant

Cons: Small rooms and broom-closet sized showers. Also, not very lively. Seemed everybody went to bed by 10pm. Older crowd. Food was not very good but was plentiful.

Recommended: No

We had a great time seeing the islands and going on all the excursions. But time on the ship was pretty boring. There is no casino and the shows weren't that interesting. There is little shopping on board and hardly any variety like the big ships. The crew were pleasant but not overly so. We're use to crew that are constantly smiling, and treating us like friends/family - not so here but they weren't unpleasant just more standoffish. Also - the drinks seemed to be watered down and not fresh. We noticed a lot of premade/ready to serve drinks instead of freshly made.
