Insignia - Eastern Canada
September
Pros: Specialty restaurants were great, Spa treatments were very nice, nice size ship,
Cons: Several of the ports we stopped at were very small, as a result the number of shore excursions were limited.
Recommended: Yes
Cabins are on the smaller side, especially the bathrooms. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful, they got to know you and how you liked to order in the restaurants and bars.
A Memorable Cruise
July
Pros: Unpack once, see many ports of call.
Cons: None
Recommended: Yes
We thoroughly enjoyed our 51 day cruise. We saw so many interesting and beautiful places. The crew was amazing and we had fun meeting nice fellow passengers.
Great Experience
August
Pros: Excellent service; small ship comforts; access to a larger number of ports
Cons: Internet accessibility sometimes poor
Recommended: Yes
I loved the small ship ability to meet and get to know a large number of people from many countries and walks of life.
As a solo traveler, I appreciated solo room accommodations.
As a solo traveler, I appreciated efforts by the ship’s crew to provide solo social meet and greet experiences.
The crew was so wonderful to meet needs to the best of their ability.
The dining experiences were wonderful, the food was excellent and the waitstaff was top-notch.
Room stewards were efficient and accommodating of every request.
I met many passengers who only would travel Oceania and would only travel a small ship like Insignia or her small Oceania sister ships. Happy repeat customers speak volumes!
I would love to sail on Insignia again.
New York to Iceland
July
Pros: Entrrtainment was great. The first five days of the cruise were awsome. The ship was very clean.
Cons: 6 days at sea, cruise went downhill, lost two ports in Greenland, very cold foggy weather, confined to being inside
Recommended: No
The cruise went downhill after leaving New Foundlsnd. The service in the cafe was awful. Tolls and pastries were not fresh, food selection limited, had to wait to long to get food cooked at the omelet and grill station, had to find your own table, The cruise director was distant and cold, unfriendly, when leaving the ship did not serve a continental breakfast for very early departures and no presence of the cruise staff to bid us a farewell. The activities were very repetitive along with lack of yoga, Pilates, stretch, and aerobic exercises. Over all Avery disappointing cruise. Lack of information about what to do st each port and no presentation of the history of Greenland.
Holiday Cruise
December
Pros: Excellent entertainment, food service and a great Masseuse
Cons: The Spa receptionist upon arrival for spa services were not very friendly or accommodating and the spa area itself lacked the necessary items usually seen in other cruise ships
Recommended: Yes
Our main disappointment with this cruise was the excursions. One that we had booked was cancelled and one was not as it was described in the description. We voiced a written complaint along with other passengers but we never got a response.
Oceania to Canada
September
Pros: Excellent, friendly staff, very comfortable accommodations, tour guides very knowledgeable, excursions well organized
Cons: We ate more dinners in the Terrace Cafe as we had several disappointing dinner in the Grand Dining Room. Some of the ports had very little to see or do.
Recommended: Yes
Overall a good experience, but will return to Viking cruises.
Cruisin'
December
Pros: Great restaurants, Friendly crew, Beautiful Cabins & Smooth sailing
Cons: None
Recommended: Yes
Oceania's written policy of no open-toed sandals to be worn in the dining room and gourmet restaurants should either be enforced or eliminated.
It was unfortunate that we were in 2 ports when shops were mostly closed on a Sunday and on Christmas Day but we still enjoyed walking around the dock areas where there were busy venders.
Amazon Interlude
November
Pros: Delicious Food and presentations / Entertainment
Cons: The shower and bathroom in many of the categories was very small. Many men I talked with said they had to go and shower in the showers adjacent to the workout room. Also complaints about there not being a big selection to choose from on TV. (sports specifically).
Recommended: No
It was an amazing experience aboard the Oceania Insignia. The crew was awesome. Cruise Director Carson Turner was fantastic and the variety of entertainment brought onboard was superb. The Insignia Entertainment team did a great job on stage as well as coordinating activities daily like min-golf, shuffle board, ping pong, bean bag toss, etc. The food with Oceania was delicious during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The specialty dinner options were outstanding. Toscano and Polo Grill. You will not leave hungry. The wait staff poolside were very good in checking on if you needed a drink but not overly pushy like I have seen on other cruise lines. Overall a fantastic experience and great product where guests seem to be loyal to.
Classy, But Not Stuffy
October
Pros: The ship was beautiful and a perfect, intimate size. The food was very good. Loved the coffee bar for afternoon lattes. Staff was attentive
Cons: Bathrooms are small, particularly the shower
Recommended: Yes
Will definitely book an Oceania cruise. It's an excellent value for an upscale experience!!
Oceania Insignia Oct 2019
October
Pros: Food was outstanding. Staff was spectacular.
Cons: Cabin was by 3 crew opperational rooms and was VERY noisy.
Recommended: No
The ship is beautiful and the perfect small ship! The food was outstanding and I especially appreciated the way they ran the buffets. They served you from the buffet instead of allowing people to reach into it and provided a great clean environment. The service was impeccable. The ports were perfect and all excursions were conducted very nicely.
Insignia
September
Pros: Updated, clean. Two specialty restaurants
Cons: Some staff had poor attitude
Recommended: Yes
Afternoon tea is nice, but hors d oeuvres at bar would be a great addition, especially if there were healthy selections.
The sommeliers were terrific
Awe of America
September
Pros: Unfailingly gracious and courteous staff....everyone! Wonderful dining venues.
Cons: Can't think of any
Recommended: Yes
We love Oceania Cruiseline. The cruises are always filled with special lectures, music, games, dances and fitness classes. We are never disappointed!
I did suggest they have a daily line-dance class held in the morning or early afternoon. Most of the dance opportunities are late at night
Caribbean Palette Cruise on the Insignia
July
Pros: Polo Grill, Social Hostess
Cons: Small bathrooms, expensive liquor
Recommended: No
Oceania Insignia

Best upscale ship
November
Pros: Food is excellent, staff is the best, small ship big experience
Cons: None
Recommended: Yes
We have been on over 50 cruises on numerous cruise lines. The experience is always exceptional in every way. The cruise line prides itself on cuisine and justifiably so. The food is delicious with a wide and changing selection. The specialty restaurants are complimentary.
The crew is the best at sea, everyone one of them is friendly and could not be more accommodating. Entertainment is first rate with great variety using a very talented cast.
Try it you won’t regret it!

Recommended: Yes
I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise and plan to sail with you again
INSIGNIA nordic
July
Pros: Loved the service, excellent guest relations training of staff, food excellent, good choice of ports
Cons: In cabin TV terrible, movies shown were blurry and they should not show subtitles on such a small TV. even the movie shown in the lounge was poor quality. they need to update to HD tvs.
Recommended: Yes
Entertainment on first part of cruise Miami to Rekjavek was excellent. Rekjavek to Stockholm was poor. Too much dependence on cruise staff to entertain (some were marginally talented). The Insignia band was excellent but they need a screen around the drummer who drown out the singers (therefore necessitating the volume of their mics to be at screech level.
Insignia Cruise Miami to Iceland July 1,- 195th
July
Pros: Excellant food, crew service great, Libray a real asset.
Cons: Room and bath very small, The weather did ot cooperate
Recommended: Yes
We had smooth sailing the crew and food service was probably the best ever,
if you like to eat! The side trips were very good, and on an off the boat
was very easy. The Library was excellent as was the Horizon Lounge.
All in all it was a very relaxing trip. The entertainment was very good also.
The port in Newfoundland was interest, and also Greenland and Iceland
.
It the weather would have been better, fog, rain etc. we could have enjoyed
it more, however you cannot control the weather.
The Fjords were great!
trip to iceland
June
Pros: good room and food
Cons: real bad enbarcation
Recommended: Yes
we waited 4 hours to get on board after flying all night. they did not even give us coffee and donuts.
Nice small ship
October
Pros: Small ship, comfortable with very uncrowded feel. Docked in town centers as opposed to distant wharfs
Cons: Staterooms smaller than more recent, larger sisters
Recommended: Yes
Would go again although the ship is showing some age. Would depend upon port/ docking situations.
Small Ship
August
Pros: great food, clean, great service,
Cons: entertainment was fair
Recommended: Yes
being a world cruise the ship personnel claimed that it was difficult to bring entertainment aboard. normally they would do so. the food was great with lobster, huge shrimp and other offerings every evening. This cruise raised the standard for all future cruises. It was great being on a small ship with 343 cabins.
Montreal to London
July
Pros: Hospitality and ammenities
Cons: Room and bathroom size
Recommended: Yes
The staff of the Insignia was outstanding. The food was average. The itinerary was fun and interesting. However, after paying for concierge level accommodations, this was the smallest room we have ever had on ANY cruise. There wasn't room in the shower to turn around, let alone do anything else. There was no "Concierge Lounge" or any other such amenity. It should not have been advertised as, or charged as, a concierge level ship. I understand Oceania picked up this vessel from Regency and I think they should have passed. Usually Oceania has excellent food but this fare was routine. I didn't have a good steak the entire trip, and that included the Polo Room. I don't feel that we got our moneys worth this time.
Oceania Cruises
June
Pros: So Many
Cons: There are none
Recommended: Yes
We loved our Oceania Cruise. We will surely recommend Oceania to our family and friends. Why, we are thinking of taking another Oceania cruise in the next few years.
The price was so affordable for the service they rendered. The organization and efficiency with the handling of every aspect of our cruise was incredible.
The entire staff treated us like we were so very special to them. We wanted to pack them all in our luggage and bring them home.
The ship was immaculate through and through.
The food was delicious and so many different food choices to behold.
The entertainment and activities onboard were very organized and so many choices to suite just about anyone's interests.
We have traveled with other cruise companies but we can say in all honesty Oceania will always be our first choice from now on.
