Hawaii Cruise of a lifetime

December

Pros: In Hawaii....is there anything else to say? PoA is a smaller ship which is a nice change from the newer large ships. Food in MDR good. Staff excellent!! Just enough to do on ship during downtime. They coordinated a solo travelers group that met every evening and we went to dinner with the cruise director one night. Cruise doesn't leave until 7 pm which allows the whole day for touring Ohau.

Cons: Didn't like the buffet for breakfast; I didn't go any other time. If going back to Ohau, I would stay in a hotel located more north of Hilton Hawaiian Village since there's more to do. I didn't want to rent a car because driving there is horrendous.

Crew was amazing

June

Pros: The staff was amazing and rooms were very comfortable

Cons: Accounting was a mess.

Recommended: Yes

The entire staff onboard were so helpful and courteous. The food in general was good. Only complaint is trying to balance our charges and OBC easily. Their system is very confusing and convoluted! We didn't know what we owed till after the cruise checking our VISA balance at home.

Hawaiian islands

March

Pros: Fantastic itinarary

Cons: Ship dated - but going for reno may 2025

Recommended: Yes

Great way to see all the Hawaiian Islands. Excursions were very expensive. We rented a car both in Maui and Kauai. Visited haleakala volcano, blow hole, Iao monument and Baldwin beach (all in Maui), then visited Poipu beach and saw a couple of falls and Waimea canyon (not to be missed). Renting car was easy. Car rental in Maui is right across street from Port behind Whole Foods and in Kauai - took uber - but they also had shuttles to rent at airport (2miles away). Food was pretty good on board - especially breakfast buffet. Would also recommend Cagney’s for specialty restaurant. Skip the bistro (French) - not very good. Entertainment was weak and pool was small - but since every day was a different port with no sea days - it was fine.
