Everything you could hope for
May
Pros: Small ship, manageable number of passengers. Great excursions and wonderful food and service. Very clean ship.
Cons: Hard to get up early for excursions! Not really a con. It would be nice if breakfast went a little later on days we didn't take an early excursion.
Recommended: Yes
The staff on this ship really spoils you. They would do anything to make your trip the best ever.
Embarking and disembarking on a small ship with 140 passengers is so stress free.
The other passengers were great and easy to get to know on a small ship. Sorry we didn't take some emails!.
The excursions and tour guides were so fantastic giving us a wonderful education.
Favorite stop was Kusadasi and Ephesus, Turkey. Dinner there at night was like being on a movie set.
Best cruise ever
December
Pros: personal, friendly atmosphere, with unique team work and client orientation thanks to leadership of first female Captain Belinda
Cons: Because no elevators not suited for passengers with mobility issues.
Recommended: Yes
Outstanding food, best crabcakes I ever had and remarkable lunch soups. Small ship size promotes easy interactions between passengers and with ship's staff. However small size also limits evening entertainment programs -- hence best for people loving the sun, sea, and islands excursions.
Wind Sprit crew Exceptional
February
Pros: The staff of Windstar’s Wind Sprit were exceptional. By second day they new your name and cabin number. Captain Belinda was full of personality and enthusiasm. This was also reflected within her senior staff on down.
Cons: The ship could use some updating which I understand is happening in 2025. Also would have appreciated access to chips or nibbles during “happy hour”. The ship’s store lacked snacks, candy and basic toiletries
Recommended: Yes
Outstanding crew.

Society islands
June
Pros: Ports of call were great. Excursions were fun and well organized.
Cons: Too short.
Recommended: Yes
The ship is a little tired and needs updating but the trip made up for it. Wished we stayed longer in other ports so that we could do more than one excursion and be able to experience more of the islands.
Absolutely Perfect
May
Pros: The casual elegance; the genuine warmth and enthusiasm of the captain and crew; the collegial feeling of being on a small ship and getting to know passengers and crew; the food is fabulous; attention to detail throughout the ship; every need and want seems to be anticipated; from booking to the trip itself, Windstar's communication is warm, friendly, accurate.
Cons: I honestly can't think of any downsides
Recommended: Yes
We just finished a voyage through French Polynesia on the Wind Spirit. The best word I can think of for Tahiti, Mo'orea, Bora Bora, Huahine, and our other stops in the Society Islands is ... enchanting. The Wind Spirit and her crew feel a part of the islands. Beautiful, welcoming, and real.
Having sailed with numerous cruise lines over the years, this is it. It is Windstar for us from now on. Wind Spirit is the epitome of casual elegance. The staterooms are comfortable and well appointed. The public spaces are lovely, but not showy or pretentious. We took advantage of the all-in package with drinks and gratuities included, as well as the laundry service. A fantastic value that made our voyage easy and relaxed.
Dreams of Tahiti
January
Pros: Comfortable, personable surroundings. All staff genuinely cared about us.
Cons: Limited entertainment. Just some singing (although they were good, just not other options)
Recommended: Yes
We were pleasantly surprised how much we liked the small ship and especially how well all the crew took care of us. For some of them to remember our names from day one and recognize us anywhere on the ship was amazing. Charlie was especially kind and helpful when eating at the Veranda. Bombang was punctual and so helpful every time we ordered room service, which was a lot! The excursions offered were so fun and insightful.
June
Pros: the staff is amazing and the ports are excellent
Cons: drinks seemed week and could have a bigger variety on food in evenings.
Recommended: No
I highly recommend this cruise. The staff was amazing from the minute we got on board. We sailed throughout French Polynesia with an overnight in Bora Bora. The feel of the ship was more of yachting rather than a large cruise ship. They treat everybody very well and I heard nothing but compliments throughout the week. The food could be a little better with a bigger variety but overall good. I loved the private parties they had on private Motus. One day we had a beach party with snorkeling and water sports for everybody on the ship and one night they did the same with local entertainment that got everybody joining in.

Dreams of Tahiti
September
Pros: Nice staff. Beautiful waters and fish in Tahiti; natural beauty.
Cons: Don't go Tahiti/Society Islands if you are a shopper. These islands are small and basic.
Recommended: Yes
Snorkeling was great. Had excursions for all skill levels. Everything was on time. Basic ship, no frills, but very adequate. Thoroughly enjoyed fellow guests. Limited entertainment, but fun.
Great Ship for French Polynesia
February
Pros: Perfect way to sail the islands with gorgeous scenery
Cons: Weak alcoholic drinks and better wine selections
Recommended: Yes
Good selection of shore excursions but overly priced. Food was good with many choices at breakfast and lunch buffets and nice portions at dinner.
Not many places to go to get out of the sun except for Air conditioned stateroom. She is a grand sailing vessel but is showing her age a bit.
French Polynesia Sailing: Excellent!
July
Pros: Crew/staff were ALL amazing, professional and pampered us every which way!
Cons: Can't think of anything

We would sail on Windstar again! We loved the smaller vessel, the crew, our cabin, the excursions, the food, and the ports of call!
Special mention to the following staff:
Uussup, Cabin Steward
Olim, Waiter
Fajar, Waiter
Karolina, Gift Shop
Uus, Sports Activities
Karen, Fitness/Salon

Outstanding service and crusine. Tahitians are tres jolie, like the scenery and waters.
Don't want to fly AA, in future. On forthcoming trip this summer, would like to consider fly either Super Economy, or BUSINESS, or forbid, 1st class. Sitting next to a Parisian of much AVOIR DUPOIS was unseemly for 8 hrs.
On future real long distance travels, will have to consider 'breaks' in travel by an overnite layover to hold down 'time zone' fatigue. I appreciate your efforts/connections re the upgraded stateroom.

Great destination-focused small ship
August
Pros: Great service, loved small ship, great locale
Cons: Food quality was not great, rooms a bit worn
Recommended: Yes
Loved French Polynesia and the small ship. Seemed like our own personal
Yacht with no Crowds or lines. Service was great with staff knowing you by name by the second day. Food quality in Amphora was below Princess or Royal Caribbean standards. By quality I mean seasoning, serving temp, etc. The Veranda was good and the deck BBQ was fabulous. Our Candles experience was not good. Poor service and cold food. Breakfast and lunch in the Veranda gave lots of fresh choices. Bread and dessert is their forte, so watch out for the weight gain. :) We loved the Polynesian show and buffet on Motu Tapu the 2nd Bora Bora night. Our couples massage under the stars one night was a highlight and well worth the money. Get a later time after 7 pm. Do not get the drink package unless you drink at least 8 drinks each per day. We took 2 bottles wine each on board then bought other drinks and our bar tab was only $300 for the week. The day on the motu at Tahaa was fun but don't get a beach massage unless you want a sand scrub also. :). The Captain is awesome and happy to have you on the bridge anytime and answer all your questions. He tried to be under sail as much as possible. All the stops were great and we booked our own shore excursions independent of Wind Star so I can't rate their excursions. Having paddle boards and kayaks to use off the back of the ship was fun. The ship holds 148 passengers so you know everyone by the end of the week. We met two other couples that we plan to keep in touch with and possibly vacation with next year. Age demographics are pretty balanced with couples from mid 30s to early 70s. There are no elevators and lots of stairs so not for those with mobility issues. A very active crowd. Fun, friendly too. This is a relaxing laid back cruise with only a two person band for evening entertainment, the casino was only open a few times and there are no shows or bingo. If that's your thing, go with princess. This is destination centered, very personalized ship. Again, service is amazing. You call for something and it arrives in 5 min. Like having your own personal butler. We had a blast. We are mid 40s and well traveled.

Pros: Exceptional service at a great travel spot
Cons: Too short

Wonderful experience!
An outstanding experience-- Tahiti
May
Pros: uniqueness of the cruise and welcoming local population
Cons: travel distance/ time from the East Coast
Recommended: Yes
This is probably the best Windstar cruise I have experienced. Both regarding the beauty of Tahiti and associated islands visited, and the organization of the trip. This included on board shows by local artists, visits to micro-islands (atolls) during the day and at night (with local dancing and traditionally prepared food), and the quality of the optional guided tours.
Wind Spirit Cruise - Society Islands
May
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing!
Recommended: Yes
Excellent cruise ship! Small and personal. Exceptional service from all ship staff members including the captain. Great ports of call plus many great touches such as a fabulous on deck BBQ that included grilled lobster tails. We also enjoyed a motu picnic one day in a gorgeous location off the island of Taha'a. Ship staff even brought over a generator to operate a blender for mixed beverages! Another nice touch was local traditional Polynesian entertainment on the pool deck the afternoon we were docked in Raiatea. We also enjoyed an evening of wonderful traditional foods, including roast pig, and more local entertainment, including fire dancers the evening we were in Bora Bora. This ship provided everything we were looking for on our Polynesian cruise.
