A good time by all

April

Pros: I loved the attention to detail on the ship and by the staff. The shows were amazing. I loved having outlets by the bed

Cons: Finding the soft drinks that were included wasn't easy. They were only on the pool deck. Things felt a bit transactional. Our bed couldn't separate.

Recommended: Yes

We loved the ship and had a fantastic time on our first Disney cruise. The staff were incredibly friendly. I had a couple of points that stuck out to me. The first was that even though soft drinks/water are included, it's not from the bars. It's only in specific places on the pool deck. It felt a tad bit misleading for Disney to say they're included but not make them more readily available. Having to travel all the way to the pool deck to get a soda was wildly inconvenient. The second is that things felt transactional. There was a lot of waiting in line for things such as meeting characters. Then a quick hello, photo and off to the next line to wait in. I loved having outlets right next to the bed but we found out after we boarded that our bed didn't separate. The options were sleep in the same bed or one of us had to sleep in the pullman bed. Overall, it was wonderful. Even though the ship is older and smaller, it didn't feel like it at all.

The family experience we received at a 10! I would do it all again next week if I could. The staff are amazing especially the BBB ladies. They made my granddaughters feel like princesses. Our room was flawless! It was the best vacation ever.

Disney cruise

December

Pros: Customer service

Cons: Noise cabin

Recommended: Yes

Unfortunately during our 14 day cruise, our stateroom developed a very loud sound in the wall between ours and the neighbors stateroom. It took two days for maintenance to find the location of the noise and fix it. While trying to locate the origin of the noise, we had to relocate to another room in order to sleep at night. We have noticed on this cruise and other Disney cruises their customer service is outstanding. They did everything they could to make this issue as painless as possible for us.

Disney Magic Cruise

July

Pros: Food, Service, Entertainment, Attention to Detail, Atmosphere, Willingness to Help

Cons: We were disappointed with one excursion in Jamaica. We did swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove. The experience was awesome, but they would not let us take pictures and then wanted to charge us $900 to buy them, so beware.

Great experience - this is our second time with Disney.

My first experience on a cruise

April

Pros: Having food available to eat until your hearts content! The food was phenomenal in the food court and in the cabana buffet.. the staff was great and very polite!

Cons: Not a big fan of fancy dinners...we went to only one and I was not impressed...the entertainment was great for the kids!

Recommended: Yes

Wished I wore my step tracker?? I must have done 30,000 steps a day...my dogs were barking! I meet so many NICE people on the cruise. Went to the beach one day...and went to bed @5:30 p.m. (YES I SAID 5:30 p.m.) wore me out!!!! But loved when it rained and the sound of the waves...made me sleep like a log??????. The grandkids had the time of their youthful life, they didn’t want to go home??????

Wonderful Memory.

December

Pros: Fantastic family experience to share with your kids or grand kids: making and seeing them happy.

Cons: For the price, I would expect better quality for the dining experience.

Recommended: Yes

In choosing Disney we knew that we were choosing a cruise where it would all be about our grandson. He had a fabulous time and it was a joy to see him so happy. That is what Disney sells and in that regard we easily got our money's worth and then some. We are used to ships with better dining and service but this cruise was not about us. The three production shows were excellent, as was the party on deck and the fireworks. The kids club was terrific. There were many activities for our grandson; however not much for adults. Disney ships are a wonderful experience for families and we would heartily recommend them for families with young children. However, for what they charge, we felt that they could do a better job with quality and variety of food (couldn't even get a scoop of ice cream from room service, just frozen Mickey bars). The dinners were generally good as far as variety was concerned, but often missed the mark as far as execution. Kids menu was good and again, the cruise was about kids. The island was terrific, especially since the weather was perfect, not hot and humid. This was our 4th Disney cruise and we will probably do it one more time as one of my granddaughters cannot remember her Disney cruise. I would definitely give it a thumbs up. They just need to tweak a few things.

The BEST family vacation EVER!

October

Pros: Cleanliness, kindness, deliciousness, happiness, fun, excitement, what can I say, Disney knows how to cruise!

Cons: Not a single negative thing to say.

Recommended: Yes

My family just returned from the Magic out of NY. From the moment I booked with my travel agent, till the moment I drove away from the port, everything was seamless. Everything was magical! The crew, the ship, and the ports were nothing short of perfection. I cannot wait to sail again. Halloween turned to Christmas on the day of our port of call in Disney World, which was just the icing on the cake for the kids. The shows were captivating, the food was yummy and plentiful, the slide was EPIC, the crew, well, I will miss them and their attentiveness. This company genuinely cares about you.

Fabulous

February

Pros: Excellent food, room was a food size with double bathrooms, ship did not feel overcrowded, service was superb!

Cons: None

Recommended: Yes

Disney Magic was a wonderful ship. Even though it is a Disney trip, you do not feel overwhelmed by children, The pools are laid out so well and there is a life guard on duty at the childrens pool. The food was over the top and was served quickly. It is a ship that was perfect for our entire family from age 2 to 64! We will definitely go again.

Disney Magic

January

Pros: Service, food, shows, attention to children, excellent

Cons: Tipping is not included with payment

Recommended: Yes

Excellent, excellent. Great for family entertainment. Very attentive to children. Any spills in restaurants or anywhere on ship were quickly cleaned up. The tip should be included with costs. If the cost has to be increased to cover tipping, then increase the cost. But an extra $100 (for 2 people) at the end of the cruise was a surprise and not appreciated.

Loved every minute

November

Pros: Service was perfect, food was excellent, entertainment wonderful

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

When we booked this, it was because our children and grandchildren were going. I was concerned that we would spend our days with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck in our faces and corny group participation games being shouted out all day long. None of that happened. There were plenty of great adult spaces, restaurants, bars, good music and grown up food. The entertainment was top tier, both for the kids as well as the adults. No detail was left unattended. I am actually suggesting a Disney cruise for my son's honeymoon!

Disney Magic

November

Pros: Terrific activities & supervision for children of all ages. Ours are 5 and 8 and they couldn't wait to go everyday and stayed as long as they could. There were science experiments, crafts, games, things to build, things to tear down, and so much more. They were well supervised and had quick access to parents through the ship cell phones for each passenger (we loved these phones). The children loved the "meet and greets" with the Disney characters which are spread out through each day of the week. The ports of call (Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Castaway Cay) were wonderful and not rushed. It was great to have enough time to explore each location & also have play time at the beach at each port. Castaway Cay is amazing, very well laid out, has a tram to get to and from the ship and beach. It has a beautiful beach with LOTS of activities. The day we were there, there was a storm at sea for the last 24 hours and due to heavy waves and unusually cool waters, some of the activities were cancelled, but there was plenty to do. Our kids loved the large water slide, and everyone ventured into the water, though cooler than normal, and the beach and sun were very warm & everyone there seemed to be having a wonderful time. Everything on board is top notch and exceptionally clean. I was very impressed by the efforts to prevent germ transmission and staff members were throughout the ship offering hand wipes to everyone for opening doors, touching serving spoons, etc. They were diligent at keeping us and the ship healthy. The crew was exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Cons: FOOD: I am personally not a fan of the "sit down" menu as I'm not a meat or fish eater, which is the central option of this menu. I prefer other options with the chance to have a sit down dinner when wanted. Between 5:45 and 9:30, all food venues (i.e. pizza, sandwiches, etc.) EXCEPT sit down dining rooms close, so that's your only option for dinner unless you want to wait until 9:30 when some of the other food venues reopen. For someone who doesn't eat meat and can't eat fish, this is tough. Though the dining room offers a vegetarian menu, it offers most with tofu, which was not good at all. As a vegetarian, I might suggest adding the option of tempeh to the vegetarian menu as it has a wonderful taste all on its own and adds a wonderful amount of taste & flexibility to any dish and can be prepared quite easily, just like tofu. Being a vegetarian does not mean you eat tofu - there are lots of other options. The staff did their best to accommodate me with a large green salad for my dinner and on nights when baked potatoes were available, I had that also. The children ate penne noodles and marinara sauce from the children's menu for all but 1 dinner and usually waited for the sandwich and pizza venues to reopen to really eat dinner, but that was quite late for them to eat and then go to bed. Breakfast and lunch were wonderful and buffet style so you could eat what and all you wanted as there was enough variety of foods to please everyone - even a non-tofu eating vegetarian. The fruits and vegetables were wonderful at the buffet. ENTERTAINMENT: Entertainment for the children was spectacular. Every minute of their day could be filled with activities of all kinds, and the children were our reason for picking a Disney Cruise. There were options available for the adults, such as lounges, etc. and the adult pool was a great option during the day. The magician/comedian was quite good, but I'm used to wonderful Broadway type productions at night, and that really didn't happen. Most of the shows were children oriented. Again, I expected that, but would have loved seeing a colorful, music filled, dance filled adult stage production. TV offered little entertainment in the rooms. Most of the channels were about the cruise, ports of call, other Disney Cruise options, all the Disney and family TV channels as well as every sporting event known to man. We had BBC News, Fox News, MSNBC & CNN, which I watched most of the time and there were movies that were repeated throughout the day everyday. I personally watched the documentary on Sue, the dinosaur, 3 times. I would have appreciated other options as the only live options were sports and news.

Recommended: Yes

This was a very enjoyable family vacation with children and grandchildren. We were grateful the children were so well addressed, as only expected of Disney. The rooms were terrific. We had a split bath which made getting ready in the morning and evening so much easier. Though we didn't have any teens with us, I was very impressed by the options available to them. They had their own floor for teen activities and there were also options for 18-21 years olds. Great ports with ample time to explore. Very accommodating and helpful staff. If you have children of any age traveling with you, Disney is definitely the way to go.

Disney Magic from Barcelona

August

Pros: Disney are great!
