Disney Wonder

June

Pros: The shows, characters, excellent food, was able to watch not released movies, watching whales from the balcony, friendly staff, tons of activities, and breathtaking views.

Cons: Smaller of Disney ships so felt the rough seas, older ship rooms need a deep-clean and repair of some fixtures, ship should have view finders to see the whales and seals, and revamping of the entertainment system in the middle of each theater show.

Recommended: Yes

I felt that the Wish which was a little bit bigger boat was less rocky, but I did enjoy the Wonder like I said it’s a old ship so there’s just some things need to be revamped on the inside the rooms like rusted shower curtains/fixtures overall was clean nice. for my family, it was too rainy and too cold to get into the pools, but other families were doing it. Friendly staff great servers if you run into Leo or Giada, please let them know that they are the bomb. We ate to our Hertz content we explored it was a magnificent time

Pros: Fun, so many things to do. Great family adventure.

Cons: We were on a totally booked cruise, so there was a lot of hurry up and wait. Small ship, so u derstandable.

The experience is great ! I think if I was to do it again I would choose one of their larger ships. Staff was amazing despite the number of people.

Overrated

March

Pros: Disney fun for kids

Cons: Food

Recommended: No

We had some fun. But could have spent a lot less for the same cruise without the Disney name. Food was just an upgraded Disneyland food. Except for one dinner at Palo which was exceptional. Also no compensation for lost luggage, broken luggage, no tender boats to go to Catalina.

Amazing cruise!

April

Pros: Everything was fantastic, especially the service we received from our servers and room attendants. The kids club was so fun! The entertainment was exceptional, our stop in Cabo was very fun and cruise line made it so easy to get off and back on the ship. There were so many family fun things to do on the boat with many options of activities. Silent DJ was a big hit with my family as was the karaoke. I highly recommend this cruise to families.

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

We had so much fun. I would suggest taking children four years old and older. They do have a nursery you can take tiny children to but our youngest was four and they really were old enough to enjoy all of the things on the ship.

Disney Wonder Alaskan Cruise

June

Pros: Disney Character experiences, fabulous entertainment

Cons: Older boat, average food

Recommended: Yes

We had a great time on our Disney cruise to Alaska. Our family enjoyed meeting the Disney characters without the hassle of very long lines like at the Disney parks. The onboard entertainment was outstanding, the staff was great and the scenery was beautiful! The ship is one of the older Disney ships and we were able to feel the ship rocking and our room made lots of noise at night. We were also expecting to be greeted by Mickey, Minnie and the rest of the characters when we boarded but they were not there. We were also expecting more Disney-themed decorations/motifs throughout the ship, but there were not many. Besides those few things, we enjoyed the trip.

Pros: Happy clean beautiful décor exceptional food and service

Cons: Not as many adult activities. High cost of photos. Wifi and app flaky.

Our first cruise since 2018 and it did not disappoint. Saw many people we met among the staff on previous cruises, including the Disney characters of course! Need to bring back the paper Navigator (schedules) and have a dedicated desk to address internet problems. Also missed the person to person phones. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience!

Disney Wonder is Wonderful

October

Pros: Very Clean, great service, great entertainment, nice rooms, comfortable

Cons: picture packages not good.

Recommended: Yes

Bought a picture package before the cruise....Wanted pictures of our group of 10, we had 3 rooms all together. could only have the pictures of people in your room, so if I wasn't in the picture I couldn't put it in my picture package. I couldn't get pictures they took of the grandkids in by package even though we purchased all 3 rooms. I would have had to buy 3 packages. there weren't enough pictures of the whole group, and I wanted pictures of the 2 families that went with us. You should be able to buy pictures of your group, not just yourself.

Disney Wonder Alaska Sailing

August

Pros: Amazing Service

Cons: Excursions are very expensive

Recommended: Yes

Disney did a wonderful job of providing spectacular views of the Alaskan landscape as well as amazing ports and excursion options. While the excursions are quite pricey they are also breathtaking. However some charged hundred of dollars per person and on top of that wanted to charge for a printed photo of your family, to me the nickel and diming on such an expensive excursion was uncalled for.

Incredible Alaska Cruise Family Vacation

August

Pros: Amazing onboard amenities and service, plenty of Disney and Pixar character meet & greets, excellent kids programs (Oceaneer's Club and Lab)

Cons: It ended in 7 days

Recommended: Yes

Our Alaska cruise on board the Disney Wonder was more than we had hoped for as our first family cruise experience. We appreciated the lovely Disney-inspired Art Nouveau decor, interactive shows at the dining rooms, and a variety of amenities that catered to both kids and parents. The specialty restaurant, Palo, is a must for a "date night" for parents. The layout, spaciousness of the stateroom, and the split bathroom were definitely among the "pros" of this ship, especially for a family of four in one stateroom. Dining options included a good variety of health-conscious options along with "kid pleasers" (my son couldn't get enough of the mac and cheese). There were plenty of pre-scheduled and ad hoc Disney and Pixar character experiences. They certainly know how to put together impressive stage shows at their theatre -- not to be missed!

Wonderful Wonder

June

Pros: Great experience for all ages

Cons: none

My grandson has dairy restrictions. The Disney staff went above and beyond to prepare his meals, even to dairy free donuts for morning breakfest! My compliments to Head Server Robert and his staff of hostesses Kristy and Anju. I never knew that they are many dairy free desserts, especially dairy-free whipped cream. Duncan sure did not starve on Disney Wonder.

Thoroughly Enjoyed Disney Wonder 2-night Cruise w/ 12 & 14 boy & girl!

April

Pros: Excellent entertainment, food and fun

Cons: Few excursion choices for kids

Recommended: Yes

There was so much to do on board. Never a dull a moment unless you wanted to relax! Everything went so smoothly from getting on board, to meals to disembarking. Staff was delightful. The big stage shows were amazing with great special effects that had my 12 & 14 year olds enthralled. I wasn't sure if my tweens would completely enjoy the Disney experience, but they did even more than I hoped. The children's food / dining options could be expanded. The breakfast buffet was a huge hit with EVERY option under the sun. At dinner though, I thought they would cater more to the young picky pallette. My cruise booker had me 110% prepared for every aspect of the cruise. She was very helpful. I would recommend a family try a Disney Cruise!

Greatest family vacation ever!

January

Pros: Staff, Dining and food, Entertainment, Characters, Pool and slide...Everything!

Cons: Photo package too expensive

Recommended: Yes

This was our first big family vacation and we had an amazing time! Our girls are 5 and 8 and loved meeting all of the characters and princesses. Every character was wonderful and so sweet with the kids. All the staff was outstanding, especially our server, assistant server, head server and stateroom hostess. The quality and variety of the food was great. We loved the dining room experience and the entertainment during our dinners. The shows on all four nights were fantastic. Our kids LOVED the slide. Our room was perfect and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that we had bunkbeds. We didn't take advantage of the Oceaneer's Club or Lab very much but the couple times my daughters did go there, they had fun and the staff was great. We loved every aspect of our trip. The only con was that the photo package was too expensive. We had just spent two days at Disney World and spent $150 on the Memory Maker package and couldn't justify spending another $150-230 on pictures. With all of the photographers on the ship, we can understand why the price needs to be what it is but it would be nice if the Photo package could carry over from the parks to the cruise or if the price for each was a little more affordable. Overall, we had a magical week and look forward to our next Disney adventure!

Cruising with Disney Characters...and families

November

Pros: Disney details, beautiful ship, lots of children activities, food, decorations

Cons: Disinbarkation process, small elevators, limited room service menu

Recommended: Yes

All in all it was a very intertaining cruise watching all the Disney characters inter-acting with the children and parents. Ship was beautifully decorated for Christmas and there were 3 dining rooms, each decorated differently and you would rotate each night to a different dining room with your servers and table partners. I would certainly recommend the Disney cruises to parents with children, as the whole ship and cruise is focused on kids. Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, was the best, it would even be better if they could stay there extra days. Key West is for adults, not kids, and very expensive. Nassau is a typical Carribbean port, like many other island stops, except for Atlantis Hotel, with exciting waterslides and water activities. Too bad they don't have a Disney Cruise just for adults.

A GREAT FAMILY CRUISE

July

Pros: There were plenty of activities for ages ranging from 5 to 77. The Oceaneer Club was a favorite place for the 5 year olds, therefore the adults had plenty of time to pursue their own interests. There were many opportunities to meet, dance, and be photographed with Disney characters.

Cons: The preregistration dates to get tickets for ship activities kept changing and was difficult to navigate. I am so thankful our travel agent notified us of the changes and helped us register for them. Otherwise, I would have been on the computer every day looking for these changes.

Recommended: No

The Disney Wonder is one of Disney's smaller ships which makes activities and special events seem less crowded and more intimate. It is easier to keep up with a family or group with varying ages. We used the travel agency's recommendations for excursions rather than Disney's trips. Our whale watching excursion was cheaper and a lot less crowded. We saw 21 humpback whales! It was a great cruise overall and I will do it again!

Ship awesome...Port tours not so much

July

Pros: Everything onboard was a delight!! My buggy was handled beautifully at ports, and appreciated reserved seating for disabled on busses!

Cons: Port Adventures ---long tours without snacks available and were not allowed to bring sandwiches from ship to shore..inadequate time to eat at port before time for tour bus to start up again. Very Difficult for diabetics.

Recommended: Yes

We did speak with director of Port Adventures who sought us out due to difficulties. He was most gracious and said that they were re-thinking how they handled food at ports and would be making snacks available on buses when tours more than 2 hours, He also understood that the tram ride through the gardens was extremely rough, and that folks with significant pain should be warned about this beforehand, as it caused big increase in pain for me!!! Mendenhall Glacier, whales, scenery, sunsets beyond wonderful!! Music in Promenade Lounge outstanding!

Wonderful for kids

July

Pros: Great experience for children, ages 4 to ??? Staff is very friendly and attentive.

Cons: So, so dinning experience, excursions seem expensive, ship is showing its age.

Recommended: Yes

The true appeal for this cruise is the Disney Experience that is focused, as it should be, on children. It's a so-so cruise for adults and grandparents. Food was average for a cruise in its category. We had a cabin in the back (stern) of the ship and noticed strong vibrations and rattles when the ship was at cruising speed. The rattles were mostly fixed by shimming the ceiling panels that were the source of the noise. The Wonder is going into dry dock in a few months for a much needed refurbishment. Food was average for a cruise in its category. Some of the dinning rooms were very noisy and made conversations quite difficult.

Family joy!

June

Pros: level of service and facility

Cons: extra charges for every little thing. tipping - Disney pretip policy.

Recommended: Yes

charging for specialty coffees everywhere. having to buy a set number of bottled waters. Would prefer dispensers on each stateroom deck. Pay your staff well and don't assume that all clients will agree with your 'tack on the gratuity at 18%'. I was confused as I would prefer to make the call and give a tip directly.

GO GO GO on this ship!!!! A fantastic, magical experience from the moment we entered the Terminal to the moment we disembarked. Nice ship, wonderful time with family

February

Pros: cleanliness, great service, character meetings, excellent food and experience

Cons: older ship, very cold, very small pools, not enough for toddlers to do

Recommended: Yes

We really enjoyed our time on the Wonder. Our family had a great time! The older kids loved the kids club and all the activities the counselors did with them. However, there wasn't much for toddlers to do. The splash pad area was much smaller than the one on the Dream, and there really wasn't any other area on the pool deck for little kids to play. The food at the buffet was good, and plentiful. However, at the restaurants, the kids menu was not so great -- I was surprised there weren't chicken nuggets or tenders on the menu. We love Disney Cruise Line and will definitely cruise again, but probably on one of the newer, bigger ships.

A Great Winter Get-A-Way

February

Pros: Loved the Disney shows each night.

Cons: Show and dinner schedule made for an early evening.

Recommended: Yes

We enjoyed our trip with our 15 and 12 year old kids. Of course the all you can eat Pizza and Ice Cream machines were the favorite part. Four nights made for a nice quick winter get-a-way. The kids did not do much with their age programs, but spent most of the time on deck watching movies from the pool or playing fuseball in the out door game area. The Disney shows were excellent and the juggler who performed one night was awesome. The dedicated dinner sittings we understand, in order for everyone to catch the show and eat. But for us with older kids, it made the evening start early (6:15pm) and could have spent a little more time doing other things. The characters were accessible at all hours and they were very interactive with guests and you did not feel rushed when you were getting pictures with them. Would certainly recommend to friends and family.
