SS Splendor

May

Pros: …YES!!!

Cons: None that I can recall

Recommended: Yes

This ship was top-flight! EVERYTHING that we needed or wanted was provided - sometimes even before we knew we needed it. I have been on different Cruise Lines through my years and this is # 1. My spouse forgot her meds and within days they were replaced ?? The foods and different Restaurants were Excellent !! I would highly recommend any of the Shore excursions 5 stars. This is top notch. But …stay away from the Boutiques. They’ll kill you with their deals??

Regent Spendor in South Africa!

December

Pros: Culinary Arts Center was so fun! Spa was fabulous, Specialty dining was supurb. Room stewards were great.

Cons: Some shore excursions were dissapointing.

Recommended: No

There are several ways to explore Africa, land packages, yes, rail yes, a cruise. Also, yes!
There is a market for cruisers in Africa, it is so special to sail around the Cape of Good Hope. You are at the bottom of the world! It is incredible!
There is a trade off for the experience, but a great introduction to those who always wanted to go, but were overwhelmed on where to stay, maybe didn’t want the full, twice a day game drives, If you don’t HAVE to see all 5 of the Big Five, then yes! A cruise may be the perfect answer for you!
We sailed on the Regent Splendor round trip Cape Town South Africa 12/6-12/21. We visited Walvis Bay Namibia, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Richards Bay, Mossel Bay South Africa and our stop in Mozambique was suspended, due to a political uprising.
There are 5 choices of evening restaurants, Sette Mari, Compass Rose, Pacific Rim, Prime 7 and Chartreuse. We also did a Culinary Brunch class in the Culinary Arts Center, which was amazing.
I had 70 in my group and had a galley tour and a cocktail party. The guests were all so nice and we had fun running into each other around the ship. Our galley tour was not what I had hoped it to be.

The ship gave us choices of game drives, or cultural experiences as excursions. the difference betwen staying on as reverve or visiting for the afternoon affects what animals you see, as they are most lively in the early morning and at dusk. But the Rhinos Elephants, Cape Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Impalas, Cheetah & Lion were a sight to be seen! Definately can see the differences in quality of each lodges operations.
Overall a fabulous trip and I would return anyday any time!!

Seven Seas Splendor

August

Pros: All inclusive pricing, large suites, excellent entertainment and service

Cons: Nothing really

Recommended: No

It is a pleasure to cruise on Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The dining is excellent, the service is excellent, and the entertainment has improved significantly. While on board we had the pleasure of seeing Belle Voci twice, female duo opera singers who competed in the finals of BGT. The production shows are are excellent as the talent is surprisingly good. The size of the Category F Suites are 400+ sq. ft. with a walk in closet, two sinks in the bathroom, and a separate tub and shower. Sette Mari is one of my favorite restaurants onboard. It is Mediterranean/Italian and all meals are prepared in full view. Veal chops are amazing. No nickel and diming. Can you imagine your laundry done each day coming back folded and wrapped in tissue or on hangers, no charge...complimentary. The staff is well trained and service oriented.

Over all our cruise with The Regent , SS Splendor, has meet our expectations. My cabin attendant, Rivvy was so awesome and his helper( I forgot her name.) The staff was all very nice and helpful . Leaving the cruise was a little unplanned but know it is your first journey there and understandable. Willie, the excursion ticket person was very patience and nice. Enjoyed his attitude. We did miss an excursion but did get refunded which I felt that it was very nice of The Regent, good customer service.

Seven Seas Splendor Excels

June

Pros: Large suites, world-class restaurants with lunch as well as dinner service, excellent entertainment.

Cons: Category H cabin is small without walk-in closet. Sliding closet doors do not stay closed in even moderate sea conditions.

Recommended: No

This ship is beautifully appointed with spacious cabins, outstanding dining venues and multiple comfortable bars and lounges. The entertainment program was excellent, and the spa offered an extensive set of services. Staff at all levels were pleasant and professional.

Pros: Loved our room. Convenience of everything on the ship.

Cons: Really the only the thing is the seating in the Theatre. Really hard to maneuver around the chairs.

We loved the Splendor. Everything was beautiful! Sometimes we thought the service at dinner was a little long, but was still very good. And coffee was always served after we got our dessert. (Not a biggie….but you asked..haha).

Feb 26 sailing of the RSSCSplendor

February

Pros: Great organization, few or no hitches to be seen. Great dining options. The laundry and pressing feature is a huge plus, everto.ne loves it

Cons: I did see a couple of cut backs on the more expensive menu items and guests also noticeded.

Recommended: No

The ships are always in top shape and the shore excursion format works so smoothly. What a pleasure to see no long lines at the destinations desk with unhappy travelers. Also keeping in mind that this itinerary has a new port each day and are in port usually from 8 am to 6pm.

Sailing in Elegance: A Review of Regent Splendor

January

Pros: Elegant ship and attractive suites, Variety of dining options, Entertainment exceeding expectations

Cons: Configuration issues in Category H, Veranda suites, Disappointing itinerary stops and excursions

Recommended: No

My husband and I embarked on a memorable 12-night segment of a 67-night Grand Voyage, Circle South America, on Regent Seven Seas Splendor. The ship sailed from Buenos Aires, Argentina and our journey concluded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With a capacity for 750 guests, this ship is truly elegant and stunning, featuring all-suite accommodations with balconies. Our stay in the Category H Veranda Suite on deck 6 was cozy, featuring a balcony with two deck chairs and a table. While we enjoyed our experience, we did notice some configuration aspects, such as the bed’s proximity to the sliding closet and the compact bathroom with a single sink and shower. It might be worth considering an upgrade to a more spacious Category F, Superior Veranda, or higher for those seeking additional space. The ship’s staff provided generally friendly and professional service, although we did observe some inconsistencies. Dining experiences were mostly positive, with standout moments at Compass Rose (the main dining room), Pacific Rim (a Pan-Asian specialty restaurant), and La Veranda (evening transformed into Sette Mari, an Italian restaurant). Prime 7’s lobster fell short of expectations, and Chartreuse, the French restaurant was enjoyable but occasionally too elaborate. La Veranda’s breakfast/lunch buffet felt somewhat limited compared to offerings on other luxury cruise lines. The standout dining experience was the Gala Sunday Brunch in Compass Rose. Regent Splendor offers a range of amenities, including Coffee Connection, a Pool Grill (open 11 am to 4 pm), Afternoon Tea, and 24-hour room service. The ship adheres to a dress code-Resort Casual during the day and Resort Elegant at night. The onboard Spa and fitness center aligns with luxury cruise ship standards, allowing guests to use the steam room, sauna, and Spa pool based on capacity controls. While Regent Splendor offers culinary cooking classes onboard, they appeared to be presold, limiting availability. Nonetheless, positive feedback was received from a couple attending multiple classes during the sailing. The entertainment on board exceeded expectations, featuring various performances, including an illusionist, local acts in Uruguay, a classical guitarist, and the traditional production company singers and dancers. Overall, our experience on Regent Splendor was positive, despite some disappointing itinerary stops that did not meet expectations, and most excursions exceeding their advertised durations. Included excursions showed inconsistencies, with some guides who were difficult to understand and poorly trained. Issues such as not providing complimentary water or adequate restroom facilities or breaks were noted. Addressing these concerns would undoubtedly enhance the seamless luxury travel experience that Regent Seven Seas Cruises aspires to deliver.

Regent review Splendor

April

Pros: Small ship and less passengers

Cons: Only one late show per evening. We felt rushed with the excursions. Of course, we could have stayed aboard the ship.

Recommended: Yes

Beautiful ship. Crew was outstanding. Food was plentiful with many different types. Evening entertainment was only OK. The dancers/singers were great, but the other acts were less than stellar. The use of the port tenders were very organized. We were disappointed that, due to weather, one of our ports of call had to be skipped. We would’ve liked to seen Port Vendres. We were disappointed in ?zmir, Turkey. I have no interest in seeing that again.

Consistent Seven Seas Splendor Experience

January

Pros: The crew/staff, the gorgeous accommodations and the dining.

Cons: The itinerary wasn't exciting, but the days at sea were great fun with lots of activities.

Recommended: No

When booking the category F2 thru the concierge D stateroom, you receive an oversized stateroom with a walk in closet, tons of storage space and a large bathroom with separate shower, soaker tub and double vanity. My favorite feature is when you sit up in bed and you are facing the sliding glass doors out to sea. As mentioned above, the crew/staff were accommodating and the food was quite good. They have a new singing duo in the Splendor Lounge, Lemon Duo and they are absolutely charming and by the end of the cruise, the lounge was always packed. Typical entertainment, but they did feature a comedian, Troy Thirdgill, that was one of the best I've seen. Lecturer Bob Ray had a fascinating series of lectures on the music industry. Regent Seven Seas Cruises continues to offer an excellent cruising experience.

Pros: Very elegant ship, and crew members were excellent

Cons: Did not like the excursion to Acapulco

Excursion to the clif divers was ok, however, when leaving the each diver was agressively asking for tips. The rest of the excursion was in the buss and in the city which was not at all interesting. Most people on the excursion were saying that it was a bad excursion.

The time of my life

December

Pros: This was the best trip ever! We loved the wonderful, consistent service; the loveliness of the ship’s decor and our beautiful suite.

Cons: None

Recommended: Yes

I can’t say enough about this experience. World class ship, world class service. The attention to detail never wavered. I felt cared for and appreciated. Staff always has a smile on. Their face and greet you when they see you. Their training must be excellent. We especially loved our bartender, Alex, in the Splendor Lounge. We saw him nightly and he was friendly and made the best Cosmo I’ve ever had. Also special was Melvin in LeGrande restaurant. He went out of his way to get me the kind of coffee I liked. Kudos to the staff!

The Splendid Regent SS Splendor

March

Pros: Service, food, large comfortable suites, ship decor, attention to detail on every level.

Cons: The area around the pool and the sun deck above although beautiful are a bit too congested especially on sea days. If you appreciate "high tea at sea" this one is not as ample as it could be.

Recommended: No

The Splendor is beautiful. The attention to detail throughout the ship at every level was something that I observed carefully while onboard. It was impressive. The level of service and the cuisine have both been elevated, since my last Regent cruise, the maiden voyage of the Explorer. The cabins , called "suites" are indeed "suites". Luxurious bathrooms, walk in closets large balconies with lovely outdoor furniture. Lots of space and more than enough drawers and storage. The decor, artwork and furnishings are all at a very high level of design. Something one would see on a private yacht but expanded for a cruise vessel. It truly is "the most beautiful ship at sea".
