Sunshine trip with family and friends!

Pros: Never felt crowded, drinks were good, food was good, easy to navigate.

Cons: Anytime dinner service was a 0, service around pools was awful. Dinners took an average of 3 hours from check in to finish. Most night the kids left before dessert was served. If you waited on service for drinks by the pool it could take as long as 30 to even see someone and another 15-20 for the return. Most of the time we had to get out and walk to a bar.

The atmosphere was good, the casino was small, smoky, and tight. And the size of the pools can’t be understated. The serenity pool held 10 to 12 people before it felt packed. The main pool was overrun with children no adults had a chance to even get in. If you are planning to spend days in and out of the pools with family and friends pick a different boat. I hate to give the staff a low star rating because the ones working were doing all they could, it just felt very under staffed. They were all very friendly.

Fantastic Vacation on the Sunshine

Pros: Staff was wonderful. Personal Attention given the entire trip. Enjoyed the activities and the Cruise Director was great!

Cons: Food could've been better. Missing some specials like different shot glasses every evening. Some favorite activities are scheduled for the same time.

Gabby was great. Our servers Rajesh, Israr, and PJay were wonderful. Our steward Catherine on Deck 8 was amazing. The lady that had the Grand Turk Shopping show announced that there would be locals shuttling guests to shore. no shuttles. She needs to be corrected.

Best Wait Staff

Igusti, Dora, and Kadek are the best wait staff! They were very knowledgeable of the menu and served us in a timely manner. Dining with this team was a pleasure. They also had the best dance moves! Thank you to Igusti, Dora, and Kadek for your service!

Cons: Sometimes fun things were scheduled at same time as early dining.

This is our 2nd vacation on the Sunshine. Have an 8 day booked on Feb 2024. This boat is the perfect size. Never had any problems getting an elevator. Crew and staff are dedicated and hard working. The Hub app made the daily schedule easy. Sometimes too many activities at the same times. Hard to make a decision. Food could have been better in MDR. The casino free drinks while playing was a fail. Sat for 2 hours at one machine and never saw a waiter at all. Lots of complaining about service in the casino. Had great embarkation and debarkation. Charleston has it going on. Wish they weren’t kicking Carnival out.

We had a wonderful time and look forward to another cruise in our future. The staff was second-to-none. Everyone was helpful, friendly, and concerned for our well-being. The ship, itself, was very good with lots of activities. The one down-side of this was that everything ran by the Carnival App. I took a vacation to get away from having my telephone in my hand 24 hours a day, but unfortunately, there was no way to keep up with scheduled events or schedule meals without the use of my phone. Gone are the days when I had a printed menu to look at for my meals or a printout of all of the events. That was very disappointing to me. The only other complaint, if you can call it that, was the shows were definitely below the standard of what I've come to expect on a cruise. The primary show never took place and the comedians they put in that spot were definitely not to my liking - vulgarity and lots of it. It would have been more pleasant had they had a back-up plan that was at least PG-13. Just personal preference. All else was wonderful, especially our cabin assistant, Cyndi, and the cruise director, Leon. He was spectacular.

Good cruise for the money

I required a wheelchair to get from car to ship and back due to hip fracture surgery in October and being on oxygen for 2 years. Fantastic very efficient service. They could take me on to the ship as far as the elevator since we did not have a handicap room. No problem. Food was good. Had some things in the dining room I did not like so I asked for something else. Only had to do that one night. Loved our balcony room. Had the steward remove the divider between our room and our friends room. Plenty of storage in the room. Didn't get to attend many shows and activities but it appeared to have plenty to do. What we did do was good. Ship had a good price point but if you want more elegance look at another ship. Loved being able to drive to ship.

Disappointing in some ways!

Pros: The four night itinerary was perfect for us.

Cons: The ship is long-overdue for a rehab.......shabby and torn upholstery, filthy balcony, worst food we've ever had on the buffet (at night).....some in our group were very unhappy with the dining room food.

We booked this cruise (multiple cabins) as a treat for our adult children and their spouses....none of whom have ever cruised. They had a blast....Carnival offers many things to do that appeal to young and middle-aged adults. Four nights was a good amount of time to be away from their jobs. And Charleston is the closest departure port to our home. The balcony cabins were a good layout..with adequate storage. We saw our cabin steward only once....on imbarkation day......his work was evident, but we never saw him! We were celebrating 3 wedding anniveraries and had been told that there would be a cake/or something in the dining room....and even told which night this would happen......and also a bottle of bubbly in our cabins. This never happened. Not sure why.,....will address this wtih our Travel Agent. We want this to be special for our children....and this was disappointing.

Pool was too small. There were not enough deck chairs available for use. Very noisy when late night activities were being conducted. This ship appeared to cater to the younger crowd more than other Carnival ships we have sailed on.
