Nice ship Outstanding crew

June

Pros: Crew, I can't say enough about how amazing the crew was

Cons: No good shows

Recommended: Yes

Overall I would sail on Quantum again. But there were definitely some "misses" for me. First, there were no good shows. I know it's an older ship so I wasn't expecting a Broadway production, but the shows were just, bad. There was no open central promenade area. On other ships there is a central area with the stairway that is open for many decks so you can look all the way up or down, this ship doesn't have that an that was disappointing. There was only 1 ice cream station on the entire ship and the hours were very limited. The shop was even smaller and carried less selection than even older ships. Although the cruise compass was loaded with listings of things to do, there never really seemed like there were things to do, if that makes any sense at all. I'm just not really a fan of this ship. The crew however was amazing and made the trip outstanding and memorable. The rooms were in good shape and everything was in working order. The showers have glass doors as opposed to curtains so that is a plus. The food selection was good and the food itself was good. The pools never seemed over crowed (although it was an Alaska cruise) even the indoor one. Again, not a ship I really cared for. However, it wouldn't keep me from sailing her again if it were the itinerary I wanted.

Quantum Alaska June 23, 2925 sailing

June

Pros: Crew members, wildlife sightings from ship

Cons: iFly and Flowrider are broken for an extended period of time

Recommended: Yes

The ship is in fantastic shape, the crew were phenomenal, and plenty of eagles, otters, and humpback whales to view from the ships outer decks while in port and sailing! Just as an FYI, our sailing did not visit Dawes glacier due to dense fog and too many icebergs. I’d rate activities 5 star if iFly and Flowrider were operational (I spend many hours a day at those two venues)

Alaska Voyage on Quantum of the Seas

June

Pros: Well organized, easy checkin and departures, great food, service, and fun!

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

Very enjoyable cruise. All the locations visited during our cruise had terrific historic and natural sights of Alaska. We road historic gold rush trains. There are many excursions to choice from such as whale watching, a salmon bake, helicopter rides to glaciers. Great dinners at night with the best service staff there to provide for all your request and needs. We Highly recommend the Quantum of the Seas!!

Quantum of the Seas

May

Pros: Solarium was fantastic, covered pools/hot tubs were perfect for Alaska, great warm boat & heated pools

Cons: Poor wine selections in the wine bar for deluxe package holders, too much space wasted on certain areas that did not appear to be used or functioning(robot bar, certain specialty dining), piano bar needed a cozier location, no large kick off party, entertainment shows did not appear as top notch as other ships, ripcord not functioning

Recommended: Yes

Nabilla and Linges were fabulous servers in the dining room!! Table 415 5:00 seating on our cruise

Alaskan Cruise

September

Pros: The room attendant and wait staff were fantastic;; ship was clean.

Cons: Food was subpar; not a lot of activities on crusting days; only had a few shows.

Recommended: Yes

Working with Josh Crothers was a fantastic experience. He made booking this cruise very easy. I requested a balcony with great views and he delivered because our views were awesome! The room attendant and wait staff were amazing. I would have liked to see more “broadway” style shows like I’ve seen on Royal Caribbean in the past. However, the live bands were really great and a very talented group. Additional clarity on what all is needed for excursions would have been helpful. For instance, we were told we didn’t need passports for the White Pass train excursions into Canada by the RC excursion staff and we were unable to complete that excursion. We were able to get on another train tour but it was chaotic to get that changed at the time of the excursion. The ship was clean and I would recommend this cruise.

Alaska Cruise

June

Pros: Crew friendliness, activities while on the ship, room service

Cons: Room accommodations, short stays on 2 of the ports

Recommended: Yes

The cruise was very good. We enjoyed the friendly staff and the many ongoing ship activities throughout the day and evening. The views were spectacular and the weather was picture perfect. Food was plentiful though the evening dining meals were ok. Nothing to brag about. On the needs improvement side, I would focus on two items. First of all, these rooms barely accommodate 3 adults, much less 4. The sofa bed/twin bed that rolls out is extremely uncomfortable and the foam that's used as a mattress is inferior. this becomes especially critical when it's a senior person who has to sleep on it. This should be noted when making room recommendations. The second area of disappointment was the short (4 hours) stay on two of the ports (Skagway and Victoria B.C.). It's almost impossible to appreciate and enjoy what these two cities have to offer when you have to rush out of the ship and then spend the bulk of your time worrying if you're going to get back on time. You barely have time to purchase a souvenir. I would have preferred to spend more time at one of the two locations and not go to the other. Overall, we had a very good time with memorable moments that will last forever.

Alaskan Inside Passage

September

Pros: Many activities, beautiful ship, friendly attentive staff

Cons: Huge ship. Lots of walking to cross back and forth to restaurants, bars, cabins etc.

Recommended: Yes

Beautiful ship with a very friendly attentive staff and crew. It’s also very big so it took time and energy to cross to restaurants, activities, and cabins. No regular RC shopping was available. All the shops onboard were extremely high end. Cartier etc. Entertainment was either absolutely wonderful to just “so, so.” Sight lines were a problem at times in certain venues. We enjoyed eating in the dining room. Our waiters were wonderful. Overall though, it was a wonderful cruise.

Alaskan Cruise

September

Pros: The staff is amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, willing to help

Cons: The ship is huge, so there are a lot of people, about 4500. Long lines at elevators and Windjammer at all hours. Bars are always full, so seating with a larger group us a challenge.

Recommended: Yes

Lots of fun games, but be there 15 minutes early. They keep a tight schedule. All the dance classes are full, everyone wants to participate, so be early to get a spot. The food is delicious, well prepared and attractive. Wait staff very accommodating to dietary needs. If not happy with meal, let them know and get something else, it's ok. The ship has so many different locations to relax or gather. Very clean and sanitized constantly. Try to attend as many shows as you can. The dancers and singers are top notch professionals. The Specialty Restaurants are quite an experience and unique in their own way, so be sure to try them. The shops have lovely jewelry, purses, and other nice items. No discount except on last sail day. The art auction is fun, even if you don't buy, very good artwork and lots of information on artists.

Altered Itinerary

August

Pros: Big ship designed well to hold 4,600 passengers.

Cons: Loading and unloading 4,600 passengers.

Recommended: Yes

I recently sailed on this ship for a trip to Alaska. Because of engine problems, the itinerary was changed. Something out of my control, but disappointing anyway. We missed sailing into the glacier area, which was one of the draws of this trip. Also, pulling into Victoria, Canada at 1630 was a waste of a port. Couldn’t they have arrived at 7 or 8 like at most ports? Service was excellent as expected on Royal Caribbean. We never felt that is was carrying 4,600 passengers, so it was designed well. One nit pick though: why, when the average spent by each cruiser is close to $1,500, is the toilet paper so poor? C’mon RCL, spend a little on two ply.

Maxwell Cruise

April

Pros: Everything lived up to the "WOW" factor. I loved the dynamic dining most of all.

Cons: The reason they didn't get 5 stars: I and many others were terribly disappointed in the "Barbados Beach" shore excursion. The place looked like it should have been boarded up. They did not tell us about the seaweed until after the tickets were purchased. The seaweed was so bad you had to find a place to make a path to get to the water. If you weren't in the water the stench was so bad I would rather have paid more money to go to some place decent.

Recommended: Yes

Overall it was our second best vacation ever, second only to Hawaii! Thanks for your help in the planning process. I told you when we met I was impressed and will gladly supply you with "word of mouth advertising". BTW: I didn't forget the "Martini". They had a Mix and Mingle with complimentary champagne. Being the good sport that I am, I drank one for you and one for me! Thanks, Lee

Good cruise overall

April

Pros: The staff was wonderful and very helpful with any issues. We had a really good stateroom attendant. We ate at all the complementary restaurants and the service was excellent. It was nice trying out new resaurants but we would forget each night where we were eating and the times.

Cons: Trying to get reservations for dinners was a nightmare at times. We waited hours in line to book our dinners since the computer showed everything was booked. Not enough staff regarding booking new cruises. Normal wait time was 1 hour to see a staff member. Half the time the RC App would crash and did not match any of our reservations.

Recommended: Yes

Overall we had a great time on the ship. We were aware that this is a brand new ship and they need to work out some of the kinks.

Perfect Cruise

April

Pros: Excellent Service, Great Food and Entertainment and Fun Excursions

Cons: Grumpy Old People

Recommended: Yes

We had a wonderful time on Quantum of the Seas. Not only is it a beautiful ship but it was full of service oriented staff that went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and took care of our every need. We loved the easy access to reservations for the restaurants and shows through our phone and being able to keep track of what we had planned everyday. The Vitality Spa was a favorite of ours and the staff there was beyond wonderful. We enjoyed the variety of food that was served in the several complimentary restaurants and again the service was beyond anything we are accustomed to in our daily lives, so very special. Even regarding the few issues we ran into, or thought we had it only took a quick trip to customer services and it was all cleared up and we were happier than before. The only thing that got on my nerves was the complaining I heard from the older passengers who obviously don't adapt well to change and didn't like the differences they found on this cruise compared with their last, but ourselves, well we thought it was perfect and can't wait to do it again!

April

Pros:

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

Overall enjoyed our cruise but disappointed in the general level of service. There were some times we received expectional service & other times service was below average with general service average. I expected exceptional service to be the overall standard offered. Disappointed in some of the food offered - in particular those restaurants featured as " fine dining " - The Grande & Coastal Kitchen Many issues with the general response being " ship is new " - I do not feel this is adequate as we paid for full service not a rebated price for "new ship"

Beautiful Ship

February

Pros: Beautiful ship, well maintained, plenty of space to relax, staterooms had plenty of storage areas, room attendants were courteous, helpful and polite.

Cons: Entertainment areas ( aside from threater) were too small for such a large ship. Deck 6 should have never been designated as a partially obstructed view w/balcony stateroom. We were very disappointed with a total obstruction of the lifeboat parked on the balcony. The dining rooms were very disorganized. The dining personnel were inexperienced and in some cases impolite. Not enough help! Food was not up to standard. Very disappointing for any dining experience.

Recommended: Yes

Would liked to have seen a Welcoming Show and Departure Show as well as a show every evening. (Perhaps one of the ice). The entertainment we did see was excellent. The technology was incredible, the music was incredible, the Robot Bar was something to behold, we were glad to experience this technology, but as Senior Citizens will not seek it out. Both boarding and departure procedures were very well organized. Our Thank You to Royal Carribean "Quantum of the Seas" for this unique experience. Our Thanks also to the Captain for keeping us informed about the weather conditions and how he was making our journey home a little more comfortable.

Royal Caribbean adventure

February

Pros: The entertainment was wonderful. The ship was spotless. The food selection was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Liked north star, rock wall

Cons: No wifi. No daily news paper. TV selections limited. Not fond of Dynamic Dining. Hated the wedge and ottomen seats in Diamond Club.

Recommended: Yes

The Diamond Club was very good. We met a lot of nice people. The storage in our cabin was a pleasant surprise, as was the bathroom. Lots of room. The dance music was very good. However the smoke in the casino was awful. I ended up with a sinus infectin and my wife couldn't even stay there. You need to rethink that. Maybe one bar and a section of the outside deck. Similar to Celebrity. The ship is beautiful. My wife commented on how beautiful the artwork is.
