Great experience! I love the smaller boat. We were able to meet so many of the people on board. So fun! All of the employees were so attentive and kind. I loved visiting the different countries. So very interesting. Most days we had several different excursions to choose from. Food was awesome every day.

My wife and I just returned from an AMAWaterways cruise from Amsterdam to Luxemburg, including the pre- and post-cruise extensions in Amsterdam and Paris. This was our first river cruise, and first time with AMA, and we are looking forward to cruising with AMA, again. The cruise staff went out of its way to make sure we all had an amazing adventure, and the guides at each port of call were not only knowledgeable and fun to be with, the "QuietVox" units they used helped us all get every bit of information and detail about all the places we were visiting. I'd also like to make a shout out to the steward crew - during the last two days of the cruise I lost my ebook. The crew helped me search everywhere, including going through the chairs and sofas in the lounge. It turns out the ebook had fallen under the sheets/mattress of the bed, was found AFTER we disembarked, but then was quickly handed off to the cruise director who left the ship after we did, but caught up to us during our first excursion and brought the book with her. That was above and beyond, and a testament to how everyone knew the situation and was willing to quickly get the book back to me. THANK YOU! We had an amazing time, got to know so many of the passengers and staff, and would definitely recommend AMAwaterways to anyone who's looking for a river cruise adventure. Well done, AMA, and thank you!

The ship was staffed with fun, friendly, professional crew who provided exceptional service in all areas aboard the ship. The staff made every bit of the trip even more enjoyable. There are set times for meals in the dining room. Breakfast and lunch are full service in the dining room, or self service limited selection in the lounge with extended hours of availability. Dinners are full service in the dining room, and you may choose to eat at the Chef's Tasting Menu dinner in a separate dining room at no extra charge. The Chef's dinner selection offers beverage pairing with each course. There is no uncharge for participating in the Chef's dinner. Food varied at all meals (except breakfast remaining pretty consistent). There are always at least two selections for soups, salads, main courses and desserts to choose from. Cuisine varied, with fresh ingredients, and primarily focused on Western European, international and some Asian preparations. There are also a variety of regular events in the lounge offering light to moderate dining options in between scheduled meals. You will not ever starve on this cruise. There is a daily happy hour in the lounge. Fresh, self serve coffee and tea are always available 24-7 in the lounge. Rooms are nice, clean and kept neatly and freshly stocked on a daily basis. Laundry service is available and convenient with a quick turnaround. Excursion options were available at each stop, and depending on the length of time docked, you may be able to participate in two different excursions in the same area. On many of the active excursions, different pace options are available to accommodate varying speed of attendees. All excursions are led by knowledgeable, friendly, local guides. Don't forget to tip them as they do not work for the cruise line.

Cons: River cruises are expensive but definitely worth it. Internet was spotty in the cabins but was usually fine in the lounge area.

We enjoyed everything about this cruise. We had a great time socializing with others as well as enjoying time on our own. The ship was lovely. The staff was great. Good food, interesting excursions, beautiful views. We will definitely book another AmaWaterways cruise.

The crew members were truly committed in their efforts to ensure that every passenger had the best possible experience. We loved every minute of the Magnificent Europe Cruise. The Cruise Manager was very helpful in helping passengers tailor any custom outings, and was incredibly gregarious, thorough, and professional.

Fabulous cruise manager and staff that aimed to please every need. Various options for tours which were very good. Tour guides very knowledgeable, pleasant and all but one could handle a group quite well.

Only negative was the noise in our room - coming from the ceiling area near bathroom - notified the hotel manager. He thought it might be due to weather but it still needs to be fixed room 216. By chance a pair of walking sticks were returned to boat on the 14th by taxi person as he failed to put with our bags. Any chance they can be mailed back to me. Willing to pay for cost. These are Nordic walking sticks in a black bag. Might have my name in side - Carol Lee Owens

AMA

Pros: Organized, efficient especially getting us through the airport on our departure. Friendly and helpful staff on the ship . Menu on the buffet was excellent.

Cons: When we docked and had local guides, all were informative. In some instances, they gave more information than needed which meant less time for us to spend at the Christmas Markets.

The only negative was that food was not available 24/7 so when we arrived and were not able to sleep because of the time change, some of us were hungry so we learned to keep snacks in out rooms. Local guides were very informative....which was ok except that some gave so much of a guided tour of the city that we had less time for the Christmas Markets which was a primary interest to most of us. It was an enjoyable trip in spite of the COLD temp, but we were fortunate that it did not rain or snow so weather conditions were perfect. It was the first time on the river so the voyage was calm....interesting going through the locks.

Cons: Some Christmas markets closed during the cruise time but that was not unexpected since our cruise ran before and after Christmas.

We have taken many cruises but this was by far the best. The staff did everything possible to make us feel pampered. The food was fabulous, the entertainment a tad campy but incredibly fun and the tours were both informative and extremely interesting. We appreciated that all tours offered the same venues but could be done at various paces (regular walkers, easy walkers, etc.) Can't wait to go again.

We were very pleased with AmaWaterways, the AmaPrima and it's outstanding staff as well as the itinerary offered on the Melodies of the Danube tour. The optional Folklore Dinner in Prague was one of the highlights of our trip. We also thoroughly enjoyed the trio who performed one evening on our ship. It was a trio of 2 violinists and a guitarist from Bratislava who were incredibly accomplished!

This was my first trip with AMA. Even though I enjoyed myself thoroughly I found my self comparing to Uniworld. The Prima is a fairly new ship and it still looked like it. I thought my stateroom was much better than the ones I had previously on Uniworld. I really hated the layout of the dining room. It was very chopped up and I felt it was the layout actually contributed to a higher noise level. I really like the fact that the cruise director traveled with us to Prague on our post cruise package. This added a nice continuity. The thing that impressed me most was that the cruise director met us in our hotel lobby at 4:00 am for our 4:30 transfer. When we arrive at the airport in Prague another AMA rep was there to assist with luggage and check in. We definitely ended on a high note.

The staff was very friendly and courteous. The layout and design / décor of the ship was luxurious. The quality of food exceeded any cruise line we have experienced. The combination of menu and buffet choices were appreciated, as was the wonderful specialty restaurant. Our Cruise Manager, Ornulf Johannessen was fantastic and genuine. Tour guides were very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor, and could draw comparison to the U.S. sites and customs. Champagne and white wine was excellent. Red wine was a bit light or rough - but it did reflect the specialty of the cruise area. Housekeeping staff kept the ship immaculate and were very considerate. On-board music could be a bit more up-to-date. Hungarian dancers brought aboard were excellent, and excursions to the Vienna wine "heurigen" and the Prague folk dinner were very enjoyable.
