GREAT crew and Service makes up for the older ship/tiny bathrooms!

June

Pros: Service, White Night, Crew attentiveness, small ship, AMAZING specialty dining.

Cons: Rooms are too small. Bathroom is crazy tiny - and not sure how a lot of people on board could fit into that shower! Shower curtain is unappealing. Better to sell a suite on these ships!!! Pool chairs were stained and appeared dirty, and all of the pool towels were different shades. Many were slightly faded, and many extremely. Some were brand new - needs to be more consistent so they don't put out the old ones.

Recommended: No

Azamara specializes in drawing in their guests and they have an amazing return guest count. I would say to put a new client on one of their ships, it's BEST to put them in a suite product as the balcony and ocean view room bathrooms and showers are incredibly small and very uncomfortable with little storage. The suite products offer nicer bathrooms - and better amenities. Other than that, the White Night event was the highlight. Many times their Azamazing evenings are off the ship. In this case, they brought on a band/dancers and it was not amazing at all. Many people walked out in the middle. The food in the main restaurant (Discoveries) and in the buffet restaurant (windows) was very nice. Menu in Discoveries was limited, and presentations were just 'okay'. On the other hand, the two specialty dining restaurants, Prime C and Aqualina are wonderful and a much more elevated experience, from the wine glasses, to the presentations, service and taste. All in all, a great cruise due to the pros listed below.

The Amazing travel

October

Pros: The events on the ship are wonderful. Another big plus is all drinks are free.

Cons: The ship is old and even a room with a balcony , the bathroom is very small, especially the shower

Recommended: Yes

We enjoy the cruise every much because of the itinerary. The ship can get into these small beautiful ports, which was very enjoyable. The shore excursions were the best. The speciality restaurant were excellent as well as the dining room.

Ireland Intensive

August

Pros: great service and itineraries

Cons: small rooms

Recommended: No

I was on the August 23 sailing on the Azamara Quest. Our embarkation went smoothly and was handled in a timely manner. The staff was waiting at the embarkation entrance to welcome us onboard. Our luggage was delivered to our room within a few hours. The buffet was open and serving lunch. Since we were staying overnight in Dublin, it gave us the opportunity to experience an evening in a pub. The Ireland intensive itinerary took us around the entire island with a port stop each day. I was traveling with my adult daughter and two mid-teen granddaughters in two rooms. When we made our reservations, we were told as long as the girls were in the room right next to ours, everything would be fine. However, once on board, we were told that each of us would need to share a room with one of the girls. I am not sure what the miscommunication was between the booking center and the ship, but I found this a bit disappointing. Although Azamara does not have any type of teen/kid’s programs, the girls had a lovely time! Our room steward went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, and the dining room servers were very attentive. Since dining seating is first come, we tried to arrive at approximately the same time each evening and were able to request the same table and waiters. I would recommend Azamara cruises.

15-night Chilean Fjords Voyage

January

Pros: Staff, cuisine and interesting ports.

Cons: Ship had a mechanical issue which caused us to miss a stop. Quite a few sea days as it was.

Recommended: No

This itinerary felt like a combination of a river and ocean cruise. While cruising through the Chilean Fjords the mountains were on both sides and calm river water beneath us. A couple of times the captain would take us into inlets to observe glaciers, waterfalls and more. Several of the stops were an easy walk to town from the port.

Loved our cruise!

June

Pros: You only unpack once but get to go to many places! Being cared for is the ultimate luxury!

Cons: You may want to do more than one day in a place, so that might be frustrating.

Recommended: Yes

We loved the cruise. The staff was first rate, the small ship and limited number of passengers made it pleasant. We were able to meet many people that way . Food was plentiful and good. Excursions were informative, fun, and the tour guides well educated on the areas. Plenty of time to relax as well. We would highly recommend this line and we are already discussing where to go next!

Greek islands

October

Pros: Visited ports other ships can’t get into

Cons: Not a lot of activity on board at night if you are not a bar person

The crew and service were phenomenal. The food was good. I am a plain food person so the Indian and Indonesian cuisines were not for me. Older ship but everything was well kept. Small size made embarking and disembarking easy. Excellent shore excursions.

Azamara Quest

October

Pros: Excellent staff and service, great gym and spa, exceptional cleanliness on ship, interesting ports of call.

Cons: Extremely small stateroom bathrooms. Pricey shore excursions.

Recommended: Yes

We have sailed with Viking Ocean numerous times and were ready for a change. We tried Azamara and were pleasantly surprised. The number of passengers is slightly less than Viking. Staff, service, entertainment, spa, gym, lounges, dining did not disappoint. We were tested twice for Covid. Testing was quick and easy upon embarkation and debarkation. The cabins are small, but efficiently designed for lots of storage for your items. The cruise director was not constantly in your face. Any info you needed was in your stateroom newsletter every day and available on your tv channel. WiFi was decent. Customer service onboard went above and beyond to help with any of our questions. The Captain of the ship was personable and kept us well informed. The only cons I have were the size of the stateroom bathrooms. They were the size of a river cruise ship. Shore excursions were pricey, but well organized. The two specialty restaurants were an extra charge.

Southeast Asia - Hong Kong to Singapore

October

Pros: Small ship, Staff was very well trained, one of the best.

Cons: The flights to get there and back are very long

Recommended: No

The ship staff couldn't have been any better. They went out of their way to always be there to help with everything. Always with a smile. We dined in the specialty restaurants 3 times. This was the best experience. We found it to be well worth the extra charge. We always received a table by the window without even asking. You could have a nice conversation without any noise. The food was spectacular too. The main dining room was not our favorite for dinner. It seemed too noisy and service seemed slow. The cabins on the ship are smaller than other cruise lines but we knew that ahead of time so it wasn't a surprise. The ship had some fabulous Lecturers on board. Very interesting topics and captivating.

Azamara Quest - 8-Night Amalfi Coast and Dalmation Island Cruise

September

Pros: Crew, small size of the ship/fewer passengers, intimate feel, great food, great itineraries

Cons:

Recommended: No

I had the privilege sailing aboard the Azamara Quest this past week starting in Rome and ending in Venice. Azamara Club Cruises are luxury, boutique sailings with only 650 passengers aboard. This intimate feeling allows you to mingle with guests and at the end of 8 nights feel like you've made some very good friends. I loved the open seating concept. Dining time is open and you can sit where you want and when you want. Food was delicious and always came out very hot and seasoned well. They were also very accommodating for any special dietary needs or preferences. Never did we have a request that went unfulfilled. The rooms were spacious and I was amazed at the amount of storage that we had in our balcony stateroom. I don't know if I've been on a cruise with as much storage space as we had on this voyage! Bathrobes were provided. The ship itself is older, but in good condition and well cared for. Dark hard woods and paneled sideboards make it feel traditional and classy. I love the feeling of this ship. The ports of call that Azamara secured were fantastic and while other ships were out tendering in some places, we were docked right at the pier. Felt very special. The Aza-mazing evening was AMAZING!! Overhearing many guests onboard, you could hear that many of them were rebooking onboard and many do back-to-back sailings.

Pros: Smaller ship, all inclusive for drinks and tips.

Cons:

Incredible Journey

November

Pros: Gourmet Meals

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

Be prepared to eat wonderful meals of creative design and flavor combinations at sit-down restaurants. Fancy or not-too fancy for fussy eaters. Use the Discoveries Restaurant you won't' be disappointed. Dress code for dinner, slacks not shorts. Men not required to wear sports coats at any restaurant but better casual dress is recommended for most eating areas (except poolside or Windows dining). For White Night dinner most people wore fancy casual white, some women wore high healed shoes! I preferred sparkly or jeweled flats/flip-flops. Bring non-skid shoes for wet decks in case of rain. Extremely well-trained staff for customer service.Very clean. Rooms a good size. Easy to find your way around. Older group of people on our Cuban tour and it seemed the people with wheelchairs and canes found it easy to navigate. Plenty of chairs on decks outdoors. Recommended tours: Behind the Scenes (ship tour), mini-sub tour at any destination that offers it (Cozumel) for 65 and younger. We walked from the mini-sub hotel location back to ship. Try the Walking-Restaurant Tour in Cuba. A difference of food and building styles at each stop on that tour. For shopping you will need Cuban CUC's, available in dock building for money exchange once you leave ship. A few places take dollars but they don't like that because they too need to pay exchange fees. $40.00 U.S. is plenty of money if you buy rum, cigars, very few souvenirs available to buy most items for $1-$3 CUC's a few cost more. We brought $20 US converted and bought 1 bottle of rum, a cigar, few souvenir's and had money left over. Definitely, check tours once you board, we booked ours at least 4 weeks prior to boarding but other tours were offered a week before or on ship and we didn't realize that they'd have different tours offered later than those we had booked. We (group of 4) felt Key West was a waste of our cruise time. I'd rather have spent an extra day in Cuba or Mexico. Entertainment on board was all too similar to each show. Liked the D.J. nights for more up-to-date music. Rleax, eat, eat some more, smile a lot!

Another Az-amazing Cruise

June

Pros: Excellent Captain Jose and his happy & helpful crew and staff. A beautifully refurbished ship.

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

Formerly cruised on this ship in 2010 through the Suez Canal. We did return to a "family." Surprisingly and happily, we found familiar faces and ready to meet new ones. Because of our excursions on this cruise, we dined in the Windows Cafe frequently. It was here we were attentively served by Chef Crisstino and Assistant Waiters Michelle and Manuel. Keeping our cabin neat and clean fulfilling our needs were Vitaliy and his assistant Pritima. We thank Russ and his entertainment staff for keeping us amused during our free time. Thank you for our wonderful time on the Quest. See you folks soon!

Pros: One of the original Renaissance ships that has been updated and refreshed. Comfortable, fun, and worthwhile. The food was exceptional and the service was good. The specialty restaurants were very good.

Cons: Compared to Regent Seven Seas, the service is is only good, not exceptional. The showroom is substandard. The shows are not quite up to par.

October

Pros: Crew: From Captain down, all crew were so friendly and helpful. It made the cruise all that more enjoyable.

Cons: Some of the shore trips were a little to be desired, but this reflects that the Quest visited small islands and smaller anchorages/ports. All tour operators were very friendly and worked hard to ensure that we learned all about their country.

Azamara Quest in the Baltics

June

Pros: Amazing itinerary, especially Stockholm and St. Petersburg - must do spots for travellers.

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

We love Azamara. This was our third cruise with them (Copenhagen/Iceland/Dublin) and the Panama Canal (Miami/Costa Rica). The cost you pay includes everything unless you want top shelf liquor and wine. Unlimited wine/spirits and gratuity included. Smaller ship which we love with still excellent entertainment. Open seating any time you want with Specialty dining options at a minimal cost adder. The Berlin excursion involved 6 hours of bus travel to get there and return, but all other stops were basically right off the ship and since it is small, it got VERY close to where you wanted to be. Easy to see the sights on your own using Rick Steves or do the Hop On thing. If your thing includes the rock climbing options on the big ships, this is NOT your choice. Be sure to use San Simeon Travel to see St. Petersburg in the best possible way.

Azamara Quest - Didn't Disappoint

June

Pros: Great service

Cons: Takes a long time to get all 700 passengers back on board after Azamazing evening.

Recommended: No

The Quest was refurbished in April of 2016, and I sailed in June. She looked fantastic. Two spa suites were added where the old E-Connections was. I had an oceanview cabin that was beautifully re-done in a contemporary design with earth tones.

The staff were just as attentive (or more ?!) than when I sailed in June of 2014. The food was very good (up to my picky standards).

I think there is room for improvement with the entertainment.  It skews to an older crowd (other than an edgy magician/comedienne they had early in the sailing).

AZAMAZING!

May

Pros: Staff, food, activites, incusions, new upgrades, itinerary.

Cons: Guest entertainers were the only thing I was not over the top about however they were okay.

Recommended: No

I sailed on Azamara 8 years ago and it was like night and day with their upgraded services, more inclusions and the overnights in the ports made a world of difference. The ship was refurbished just one sailing prior to mine and the Looking Glass now called the Living room lived up to it's name. It felt like you were entertaining in your own home. It was so popular it was crowded every night and a lot of the daytime as well. I was concerned about having so many sea days with not much to do. The ship was full of activiies and lectures that you were almost reluctant to go into the ports. The posrt however, were amazing. Departing from Dubai was out of this world. It is one of the most facsinating cities I have ever been to. Las Vegas on Steroids without the casinos. Everything was bigger and better including their customer service. Oman was okay - interesting Souk but there was little to do and see. Salalah, first time Azamara visited there, had not much to offer too. The taxis have a strong union and Azamara was not able to offer a shuttle into town. That being said there was not much to do and see in town. We opted to go to the Crowne Plaza and spend the day at the beach. I waves were high and it was fun playing in the water. Life guards were watching over us as there was a strong undertow. I was happy to be able to visit Oman having never been there and this was definately the way to visit. Aqaba was very unique with Wadi Rum and of course Petra. Overnight there was great so it gave some guest the oportunity to overnight near the ruins and visit them first thing in the morning before the crowds and heat. It was a tough walk back to the visitors center in the heat of the day uphill. The site ittself was awesome. Shore Excursions were a bit pricey and a LOT of people opted for private tours. Group tours did not get to see as much as waiting for stragglers. Pirates were not much of a concern however the ship took appropriate precaustions by having 5 SAS/British Marines on board fully loaded with weapons in case there was an issue. We also had a "Safe Haven" drill to know what to do in case of an attack. There has not been an attack on a cruise ship since 2008 so we were not worried. Lecturers also did talks about pirates as well as destination and history information. Israel had several tours offered but most opted for Jerusalem and Bethlehem which made for very long days and were crowded with tourists. shopping was not allowed ulless you visited the "approved" shops. They did not sell all the goods that some would have liked to have shopped for but we did not have the time to shop for much. The staff and crew on board were very friendly and helpful. I had arranged a tour of the bridge and a tour of the control room for my guests and they all seemed to enjoy both. The Captain was the most interactive Captain I have ever sailed with and he had a great sense of humor too. he met us on the bridge with a pirate hat on! The concierge was very helpful with a couple of issues my guests had and resolved the issues as fast as possible. The cabin was cleaned daily and always kept up. Our cabin steward and assistant were always close by if we needed anything. The included beverages were fine for me however my husband was disapointed they did not include his drink of choice but he hade do. He also had to visit the ship doctor for an ear issue that was resolved quickly and did not cost too much. The entertainment was good. The variety shows were typical and the entertainers were pretty good too. The guest entertainment - magician was okay and the hypotist was okay as well. The flutist and piano player were a bit boring. Food was very good. Nice variety every night and themed nights in the buffet. They added a grill by the pool that served standard items that were neither dining room nor buffet that was a nice alternative. All in all it was a MUCH better experience than I anticipated.

Best Crew on the Sea

August

Pros: All staff members were friendly, polite, and extremely helpful.

Cons: Very tiny shower.

Recommended: Yes

Overall, an excellent cruise. Selection of ports was outstanding. Tour guides were knowledgeable. Food on the trip was very, very good. Choice of wines, included in cost of trip, was surprisingly good. I have been on other cruise lines, and this crew was the most helpful and friendliest I have ever seen. The entertainment was top notch! All cast members were of Broadway caliber. The shows were in a small venue so audience and cast experienced a closeness not found on the larger ships. I really enjoyed the entertainment.

August

Pros: Great port cities, ease of leaving and returning to the ship, guides were great

Cons: Need more detailed descriptions on some of the activities, need better selections of wines, should have an introductory sessions for first time cruisers.

Several of the excursions could have been better described. Wine selection was stated as varied, but in actuality was one red and one white per day of not a great variety of wines.

Azamara Quest IS "AzAmazing"

August

Pros: On Board Service, Varied Dining, Gratuities & Drinks Included, Good Price Point & Value

Cons: Cabins Are A Bit Small. The Evening Entertainment & Venue Options Were Weak & Limited

Recommended: No

Azamara Club Cruises "Quest" is a delightful and welcome surprise, in the world of small ship experiences. The ship is beautifully appointed, with many paintings, sculptures and art work throughout. The staff is friendly and eager to enhance the entire on board experience. The ship spends many nights in port, after others have left, and offers interesting shore excursions to match this timing. The "White Night", party on board, with outdoor dining and live band, bar and dancing under the stars is a blast, and creates great comraderie among the guests. Their "AzAmazing Evening" is not to be missed. We returned to Ephesus, after it closed to the public. Azamara arranged a classical music concert in the Odeon Amphitheater, and even brought cushions for all 700 guests to sit on! When we left the site, our path was lined with luminaries, to show the way. All provided at no charge to guests...definitely worthwhile and unique.

Azamara cruise France and Italy

August

Pros: Loved it! Would go again. Amazing crew and wonderful atmosphere

Cons: Bathroom too small. Would want to upgrade for a larger on!

Recommended: Yes

This was a fabulous cruise. Loved just about everything about it. Enjoyed not being on a noisy crowded ship. Debarkation for daily excursions was a breeze with no wasted time. Food was very good with open seating which was great. I would highly recommend this cruise line to my friends.

azamara quest

April

Pros: all inc.

Cons: passengers

Recommended: Yes

This was the second time we have been on this ship. We liked it much more the first time, this time there were passengers on board who were not used of this kind of ship. But anyway enjoyed the time - and are happy to be at home with a bad cough we got as a souvenir from the ship....
