Carolyn and Bob's 60th wedding anniversary party

June

Pros: Upbeat and helpful staff; the patience and sometimes humour, exhibited by gangway staff; wonderful food; great shows; the elevator system; the balloon tire wheelchairs on CocoCay

Cons: Handicap issues: low toilet seat in stateroom; low chairs in stateroom; a safety hazzard entrance and exit from the bathroom without a grab bar;

Recommended: Yes

Four issues: I was not familiar with how the elevators worked so the first half hour on the ship was frustrating. We couldn't figure out how to get to the our muster location. The elevator system is great once you know how it works, but there is no initial instruction. It would have been helpful to know that I could park my rental scooter outside of my room at any hour of the night and then call housekeeping to pick it up for charging. However, even had I known this, I would not have been able to physically reach the telephone which I discovered was hidden on the far side of the room. Lastly, I had a handicapped accessible room, but I didn't feel safe. The toilet seat was too low without a grab bar and it was very difficult to step over the threshold to enter and leave the bathroom without a grab bar. Lastly, you should make clear the places that are NOT a part of the drinks package - the the Starbucks on Deck 5. There was no way to know. It's not fair that we were charged fees for their specialty drinks.

Excellent trip

January

Pros: Hands free doors , beverages

Cons: Deck chairs by the pool too close together without tables

Recommended: Yes

Excellent crew and food! I could not believe that the staff work 7 months straight without any time off… please consider at least 1-2 days off a week for self care. They were amazing !

Beautiful Ship

January

Pros: Good Food, Great Entertainment, Great Private Island

Cons: Large Ship accommodating 6800 guests at full capacity so some areas seemed crowded.

Recommended: Yes

I enjoy Royal Caribbean. It’s a wonderful cruise line and the crew work hard to provide you with a great vacation experience .Overall, I would recommend Utopia of the Seas, but put on your walking shoes, for the ship is the 2nd largest in the world. Although the entertainment was great, please be sure to see the Aqua Show. Fantastic! Also, CocoCay, RC’s beautiful private island is the best.

Exceptional service

December

Pros: Upscale food choices, committed staff

Cons: Late evening food choices are limited

The cruise experience is still the best deal for the money. This ship is geared to a Family experience and wasn’t crowded or bothering with young cruisers everywhere.

Utopia of the Seas

November

Pros: Family memories and Perfect Day

Cons: Can’t wait for the next one

Recommended: Yes

My husband and I would not have made this vacation choice without doing our research and finding Josh C Contact: Josh Crothers Josh Crothers, affiliated with MEI-Travel 833.215.0195. He made the best suggestions within our budget. He made the process so much easier. He also helped my family that joined us made their trip memorable as well. We will definitely use him again when we want to do another cruise.

Utopia of the Seas

November

Pros: Beautiful new ship, clean, staff is wonderful always

Cons: Food is good but not excellent, itinerary is the same so often and it gets boring

Recommended: Yes

Loved this beautiful brand new ship. It’s clean, staff is amazing, shows are awesome, elevator issues have been fixed with this new system. Food is good but having the exact same menu on all ships now gets old fast. I miss the diversity and lobster nights. Port Canaveral is terrible with nothing to do and RC will never stop going there because it’s where they pick up provisions. Nassau is also not a stop I get off the ship anymore after going there almost ten times. Really wish there was more diversity with ports/itineraries for the large ships. Also wish RC would do longer cruises on the large ships but was informed they’re making all Oasis class ships 3-4 nights because it makes them double the money over a 7 night. Just some things to be aware of.

The BEST cruise ever!

November

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Recommended: Yes

Book this cruise. You won't regret it. With 10k persons on board the ship still felt empty. Nowhere was excessively crowded. So much to see and do. The entertainment staff was superb and the food was excellent. Housekeeping was literally invisible. The rooms were just magically cleaned every day.

Cons: None

We enjoyed our trip on Utopia of the Seas. The kids loved going to the kids club. Both the ice show, and the aqua show. The food was good. The dining room staff was great and even brought my daughter extra shrimp when he found out she loved it.

Great Weekend Aboard Utopia of the Seas

September

Pros: There was so much to do!

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent cruise aboard Utopia. It is a great ship and easy to move around and about! The crew was very friendly and helpful. The ship was very clean and someone was always working to maintain the cleanliness at all times. I also appreciated the hand washing and hand sanitizer stations that were everywhere! Perfect Day at Coco Cay was also a great time.

Utopia Weekend Cruise

August

Pros: Loved the modern decor and all the employees were supberb.

Cons: Too many adults drinking alcohol at times in the pool and getting too loud around the younger kids which is supposed to be a family oriented boat. Should have an adult only pool . Also you need to have a library.

Recommended: Yes

All in all a great ship. The food was good, the shows were good and the employees were the best. I did a back to back cruise and my daughter and family did the three day part of our week on the boat and they said the three day was too short to enjoy everything.

Inaugural Sailing of Utopia of the Seas

July

Pros: Great upgrades over Wonder of the Seas

Cons: Can be difficult to get reservations at restaurants and shows for 3 night cruise. Not crazy about the location of Playmakers on the Boardwalk. Can get very hot in the summer months making it difficult to enjoy the space.

Recommended: Yes

Loved the ship and it is now my favorite Oasis Class ship. Solarium is fantastic and the Pesky Parrot was a great upgrade over Bionic Bar. Elevators are a big improvement. Love the location and design of Giovanni's Wine Bar and enjoyed Izumi in the Park.

Utopia Inaugural Sailing

July

Pros: Technology, Venues, Activity Diversity, Staterooms

Cons: Pool can be a bit louder

Recommended: Yes

Many people (including Royal Caribbean) paint Utopia as a "booze cruise" or a party ship.. and while it does facilitate that more than any other RC ship, it's not out of control and leading to unwanted behaviors. Yes — The pool deck was more lively and played upbeat DJ music instead of the usual relaxing Caribbean tunes. Some of this spilled over more noticeably into Central Park throughout the day, for example. Otherwise, my wife and I had a very “traditional” Oasis-class cruise where we enjoyed the food, shows, and pub/Mason Jar and the “party” elements were virtually undetectable to us because we did not go to them. You do NOT need to avoid Utopia if you’re not into the party scene.
