Great multi family trip on the AmaMagna
June
Pros: staff, condition and cleanliness of the ship, variety of shore excursion options, multiple dining options
Cons: one or two ports were less than ideal, breakfast felt repetitive after the week, wifi was weak at times
Recommended: Yes
We had a great family trip (ages 27-84) on the AmaMagna. My (adult) children have food allergies, and the staff did a wonderful job of letting them know their options and of keeping them safe. The family enjoyed the pickleball courts. We thought the ship felt roomy due to the fact that it was double width. We enjoyed meeting the captain and having a quick look around the bridge. I would have appreciated water bottle fillers. There was not much evening entertainment. Trivia or a similar game would have been appreciated.

Our cruise
November
Pros: Beautiful ship staffed by true professionals. You can tell that they really care about making your experience special and memorable.
Cons: Did not get to make it all the way to Vilshofen due to water levels
Recommended: Yes
Everyone was extremely attentive in their attempts to make our experience special. Jan had a bit of a medical emergency and the staff could not have been more professional about getting her taken care of. We will always appreciate the extra effort they need to help us out.

Beautiful Boat and Very good service
June
Pros: Cabins are outstanding; multiple dining options; variety of tours
Cons: Dining service crew a bit inexperienced
Recommended: Yes
We loved the AmaMagna, a big boat that never feels crowded. In addition to the main dining room, there are three specialty restaurants (and the Chef'sTable is really outstanding). We were on the Southeastern cruise of the Danube from Budapest to Romania, with tour stops in Croatia, Serbia, and Bulgaria. There were a wide variety of tours and tour guides were all knowledgeable and excellent. We also had an exceptional cruise director, which always seems to be the case with AMAWaterways (this was our fourth cruise with AMA). Only minor nit, and I think this is because of the pandemic, was some of the dining room staff were not very experienced so service on occasion was a bit spotty. However, we highly recommend AMA and are already planning another cruise with them.

AmaMagnificent
December
Pros: The customer service/attention was superb. The variety of tours based on physical ability/skill was a great touch.
Cons: Perhaps the in-room entertainment offerings.
Recommended: Yes
The Amamagna cruise ranks top of the list of my water travels of any kind. The staff was wonderfully attentive to all our needs. The food was fabulous with choices for vegan or gluten free customers. The choice of wines at dinner was amazing and reflected regional wines that gave the opportunity to experience grapes that were new to us. What set this cruise apart for me was that in every port there were tour choices that responded to the physical abilities/skills of the passengers. You could bike, hike, or walk. Even the walking was broken into regular paced and gentle paced groups. There was was special attention to on board activities that addressed healthy living such as yoga for beginners or advanced, Pilates, digestive walking and many other things to numerous to mention.
