NCL - Not Cruising Luxury
July
Pros: Alaska was amazing
Cons: Meals,
Recommended: No
The ports were friendly. The souvenirs were fairly priced. The excursions were, for the most part exciting. On the whale watching trip we saw plenty of whales, sea lions, seals, eagles, etc. The white pass mountain trip was educational without being dull. The Mushers camp was very fun. The downside to any of these was that the time of the excursion took all the time in port. On several occasions we were very nervous that we would not make it to the boat on time to leave. However, NCL was less than we hoped. Meals were dry and tasteless. The portions were barely enough for a child over 10. The menus on tv and screen by elevators were useless. They did not indicate the open times for the restaurants nor the menu for the day.
Awesome Alaska
June
Pros: Great ship
Cons: short time in Kechican
Recommended: Yes

First cruise but not the last
May
Pros: Everything was great
Cons: Getting on and off the ship was a bit chaotic but I guess to be expected with that many people.
Recommended: Yes
Room was ideal for 2 adults. The crew was amazing, always happy and willing to help. The staff in the shops were great too! There are definitely a few and I wish i could remember there names that will stick with me. There were times it was hard to find seating inside to eat but being patient is key in this situation.
Not really Worth it
September
Pros: Friendly staff, good food
Cons: Not enough time in ports, too much time at sea
Recommended: No
Our balcony room was nice inside. However, our balcony was directly above the ships designated smoking area one deck below. That was horrid. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and get bad nasal sore throats. The #1 smell I hate and same with my husband cannot stand cigarette smoke. The lack of port time was disappointing as well. After coming home, we researched other cruise ships itineraries that seem to offer more in port time. We observed while we were in port another cruise ship that seem to always have the best in port location that was close to the in-town shops etc. getting back to the competitors ship more efferently. This was our first cruise. We may do another cruise or maybe not; However, I will do more research for ourselves before doing so
NCL Encore cruise
July
Pros: Excellent service. Food was very good. There were a lot of options to chose from as far as food goes. Cabin was spacious. We had a wonderful time
Cons: Some of the ports were only a couple of hours and early. But overall our excursions worked out great.
Recommended: Yes
The staff on the Encore went out if their way to make sure you were enjoying yourself and had everything you needed. The entertainment was fun. It was our first cruise and we had a fantastic time.
Alaska Cruise
September
Pros: Crew, Stateroom, Accomodations, Excursions, Dining, Entertainment, Everything!
Cons: Speaker was not being heard in our stateroom
Recommended: Yes
The cruise itself was amazing. The crew staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable, accommodating, and attentive to the needs of the guests. I never experienced anything less then 100% of their attention to detail. Our luggage was transported to the airport and our boarding passes were taken care of upon embarkation; we were taken by shuttle to the airport from the cruise line. It was such a smooth process. They did everything for us. We were in total awe. Thank you NCL for making our first cruise a fabulous one. Great memories to share and remember. We've already passed the word around to friends and family.
Beautiful ship with something for everyone
June
Pros: Fabulous dining options, fun on board activities, wonderful staff/customer service
Cons: Additional charges for Speedway, VR arena and laser tag
Recommended: Yes
The Norwegian Encore is a wonderful cruise experience - we loved every moment on the ship and had a great time. There is something for everyone - from the dining options, on board activities to the cruise itinerary - you can make your vacation yours. Highly recommend experiencing this ship - I don't think you will be disappointed.
Classy, comfy, clean, delicious cuisines and relaxed cruising - all in one package!
March
Pros: 1) Classy, comfy, clean, excellent dining options and relaxed cruising. 2) Staff always keeping everything clean. 3) Hosts reminding folks to "Washy,Washy" before walking in to dining/common areas. 4) Modern, updated well thought out floorpan in cabin bathrooms
Cons: Can't think of anything major that would stand out. Minor stuff not worth mentioning.
Recommended: Yes
I've cruised a few times and this was the first time on NCL. After this experience, highly unlikely I will cruise with a different cruise line.
The staff was professional, friendly and efficient. The customer service training is excellent and the staff appeared genuinely sincere in helping one out. Excellent attitudes encountered everywhere.
Alaskan cruise
July
Pros: We’ll run, staff is attentive and professional. The food is wonderful. Great programs for kids. The 13-17 year old group was fantastic!
Cons: I wish some of the amenities didn’t cost extra on the ship (virtual reality room, laser tag)
Recommended: Yes
My teenage girls LOVED the Entourage 13-17 year old group. They said the kids there were friendly and they hung out with their new friends even outside the teen club room. I do wish there was a program for 18-20. Too old for Entourage (teen group) and too young to have a drink at the bar (on the Alaskan cruise).
The ship did a great job with COVID mitigation. Staff very attentive especially at mealtime reminding people to wash hands before and after eating, etc.

Best Cruise Ever
July
Pros: Friendly Staff, great entertainment, free style dining, nightly themed dance party
Cons: Horrible app, internet availability, short port times
Recommended: Yes
I can’t say enough about the staff on the Encore. They go above and beyond! Food was wonderful and with free style dining you can choose how formal or informal you want to be on any given night.
I found the app very difficult to navigate pre Cruise and even worse once we boarded. I stood in line at the internet desk three different times for over an hour each time and never got close to speaking to anyone. There was only one person on duty at the desk intermittently during certain times.
We would rather have gone to fewer ports and had more time at the stops. Four hours is not long enough.
Amazing experience
May
Pros: Hospitality
Cons: Limited shows
Recommended: Yes
Amazing views. Incredible ship. Fantastic hospitality.
There's not much time left in Skagway or Ketchikan to see the town if you're doing excursions. All of the shops in Victoria were already closed upon our arrival and the only shops were staged at the dock. So plan accordingly.

Thus us a beautiful ship. We especially enjoyed the 15 deck. Our cabin was spacious and had a wonderful location to the elevators and other decks. I would highly recommend this ship and Norwegian Cruise Line.
Our NCL Encore Cruise
March
Pros: The ship is absolutely beautiful! Wonderful crew. We had a balcony on the 14th floor. It was so nice. The entertainment was really great. My favorite was the Choir of Man. They were fun and great singers.
Cons: It ended too soon!
Recommended: Yes
It was a really fun cruise. One excursion we did was on Tortola, the Baths, it was a hike, but very beautiful.
Great ship
February
Pros: Restaurant we’re all wonderful!
Cons: That was a few to ride on the go carts :(
Recommended: Yes
I was hoping to be at port longer in San Juan. I wanted to take a tour of the new and old San Juan:(
