Viking Skaga

Overall, the cruise was great. It was an easy way to travel with my 2 daughters. The staff was exceptional. The rooms while small, while small, were well appointed and linens were a nice quality. Steward was excellent. The excursions were well planned and guides very knowledgeable. Food was very good. Wait staff friendly, fun and professional. Activity director was very thorough in his port talks. I was so appreciative of the Viking staff that helped us at the airport. My only complaint is the restaurant. It was crowded, loud and chaotic. The staff did their best to offer good service but even they were having a hard time working their way from table to table. It was not the relaxing atmosphere that you’d want for dinner on vacation. We were fortunate to eat on the inside of the aquavit terrace most nights, but space was limited because the weather was rainy and chilly. I’d return with my girls,but I’m not sure my husband could deal with the restaurant noise. He wear hearing aids which are hard to adjust in any loud situations. Again, this is no reflection on the staff and all the positives I listed above. It’s the number of guests and the construction of the restaurant.
