Had the best cruise ever. The personnel were top notch. No wonder the Discovery Princess won the best ship in the fleet

Discovery Princess in Alaska
August
Pros: The views, our balcony, our stateroom, the ease of everything from having drinks brought to you anywhere in the ship to getting on and off the ship, from dining in the buffet to going down to the International cafe for Chai Teas or around the corner for a gelato, our stateroom steward, Ryan, was fabulous-always one step ahead of us.
Cons: Would like to have longer port time in Victoria.
Recommended: Yes
This was our first Alaska cruise aboard the Discovery Princess and it was amazing. From all of the staff to the food, the special notice they took of our anniversary. They surprised us with a digital Happy Anniversary banner by the elevators which was totally unexpected. Glacier Bay was stunning and our photos do not do it justice. We feel the staff in all areas really went out of their way to welcome us, make us feel at home, see to all our needs and then ensured our luggage was couriered directly to our plane from our stateroom. We could not have asked for more. Thank you Princess for making our Anniversary even more special.

Pros: Excellent Service
Cons:
Recommended: Yes
Allen took care of our room in A508. His service was exceptional. He was very polite and accommodating when we had special needs. (We are not sure of his last name.) Ryan Asis and Made Suartha in dining went well above what was expected when we had an unanticipated situation arise. Dr. Kok and the medical staff were professional and provided excellent care. We were comforted by their sincere interest and desire to help.

Plenty of food, drink, shopping & activities. But not enough time at Victoria BC.

Discovery Princess Beautiful ship
July
Pros: All staff friendly and helpful. As a whole they are trying to constantly improve all that they do. The food was especially good. We enjoyed the Internationalo buffet the best. It had such a variety of foods. The staff was great to, not only there but in the dining rooms too.o
Cons: They had dropped our dining reservation and so they gave us a later time than we desired. Because it was so late, on the last night we went to the international market buffet so we could see some of Victoria
Recommended: Yes
I traveled with my six children and their spouses. We had them open up the gates on all our verandas. We were all right next to each other. So we could go out and view whales if there wasn't fog, or else just go out and chat with each other on sea days. That was especially enjoyable for all of us.

I felt very comfortable traveling by myself. I preferred sitting by myself at meals and my request was always accommodated
