Thoughts on AMA French rivercruise

Pros: Great staff, beautiful ship and crew, excellent food, Caroline our cruise director was superb

Cons: Shore excursions required lengthy bus rides, a lot of walking

Recommended: No

We spent a lot of time on busses. On several excursions after lengthy bus rides we only had enough time for tour and then back on bus. It would have been nice to have time to do more exploring or just having lunch at a sidewalk cafe.

GREAT vacation

Cons: Only 3 nights of actual entertainment

This was my second AMA river cruise. The crew both times was wonderful - warm, friendly, welcoming, and always looking for ways to make you more comfortable. The passengers who choose AMA seem to also be very predictable - down to earth, friendly, real people. The tours were all fun and they make everything accessible for all abilities- "gentle" walkers, hikers, cyclists. Food was great and they can alter your menu for any issue you might have.

Pros: This is the second time we sailed on the AmaDante, and this time it was a different river. It looks brand new and everything is just perfect. The food and breakfast buffet were outstanding, and their laundry service saved us from packing a lot

Exceeded Expectations!

This was the first river cruise for our group of 8 friends (four couples). The whole experience far exceeded our expectations. The planning, logistics, cabins/staterooms, food, drinks, staff, countryside, excursions, activities, and every single detail were all amazing! We would highly recommend this and we are grateful we were able to experience it!

Wonderfules

Pros: the staff was so helpful and friendly, I loved that they had a baker on the ship. The bread and pastries were sooo good

Cons: we were at the back of the ship and the engine noise was a little bothersome. There were several ports that we did not get to enjoy because all the shops were closed for the holiday

I can't imagine that the food could be any better on a different cruise line. It was so relaxing we enjoyed getting to know the staff that took such good care of us.

Wonderful Experience

Cons: Top Deck mostly closed for low bridges

The AmaDante team were excellent. Friendly, helpful, and they clearly noticed and took care of the details to keep things running smoothly and to take care of the guests. This was our first cruise of any kind, so we weren't sure what to expect. They did a great job of keeping us informed, keeping us comfortable and well fed, and they made the travel experience very easy. As a traveler that likes to DIY it, I did think the ratio of shore time to ship time was lower than I would like. We did the pre-cruise and post-cruise extensions, which made this better. But all things considered, I would recommend AmaWaterways anytime.

My first river cruise

Pros: Abel Ramos was amazing as the activities director. The captain was very involved with his crew as was Sonia the hotel manager.

I think the massage that I had was amazing, done by Vladimir, and that opportunity should have been promoted more than by just a flyer in the room. I was motivated by the reports that came back and would have probably would have done it again. I liked that there were different levels of walking groups so everyone seemed to be in their own comfort zone.

Danube

Pros: Great ship. Room was more spacious than I imagined. Lots of storage space to put away all possessions. Ship was spotless. Food was great. Crew very accommodating and friendly. Loved the time on deck as we went down the Danube. The views at night leaving Budapest are etched in my memory forever. Our tour guide, Edward, was excellent. Ihotels were superior and great locations.

Cons: I would have liked to stay in Vienna longer and eliminate Nuremberg

We had a great time. It was our second river cruise and first one on AmaWaterways. It did not disappoint us in the slightest. Everything was first class. The people were awesome. Very attentive to our needs.

Perfect Vacation Trip

Pros: Lovely ship, great food and beverage (and lots of it), top notch service by a most pleasant staff, great tours at every port, and last but not least terrific Cruise Director!

Cons: A couple of glitches in our room but they were resolved satisfactorily.

The size of the ship is just perfect which makes it a most pleasant river cruise. We will definitely sail again!

Pros: Ship has been completely refurbished. Food, Service, Cruise Director and Staff were superior. Looking forward to another cruise with them.

This was an awesome cruise. The ship has be refurbished with lovely furishings. The Staff, crew, food, service and cruise director were excellent. This company offers slow walkers and regular walkers excursions. This was highly appricated. We are looking forward to our next cruise with them. Local entertainment was offered in the evenings.
