Transatlantic Cruise
November
Pros: Dining Staff
Cons:
Recommended: Yes
Peter, Our Waiter: Peter was incredibly kind, attentive, and charming throughout our dining experience. His thoughtful gesture of offering us a beautiful handmade paper rose truly stood out and made our evening even more special. Cynthia, Our Assistant Waiter: Cynthia was patient and funny, adding warmth to every meal. She took the time to kindly explain the differences between the various breadsticks, making even the smallest details feel enjoyable and personalized. Cecilia, Our Sommelier: Cecilia had a lovely smile and a talent for making great wine recommendations. Her attentiveness went above and beyond, as she made a point to recognize us even at breakfast, which made us feel truly valued and welcomed.

Celebrity is not the crusie line we remembered from before
June
Pros: Nice staff, but not great, especially on Concierge level
Cons: Ship is pretty worn out, even though we were told that it went thru a refit not long ago
Recommended: No
We remember Celebrity Lines, and especially the concierge level, to be top of the class in service, quality, staff attention, and facilities. Our recent trip - not so much. We never even saw our "concierge Person" where on a previous Celebrity concierge level cruise, he contacted us daily on anything to make our trip more eventful. Breakfast is available in the room, but its only continental. It used to be full menu. Now they charge $10 visit fee for the full breakfast. Thats kind of an insult especially since we were already paying for a higher level of service in the Concierge class. Repairs were not done as requested. Granted, they were minor but still irratating. Reported on Wednesday (still had nearly a week left on cruise), not even acknowledged by the maintenance staff. Room steward. got the job done. Nothing special. no towel animals. frequently forgot our request each night for ice. Dining staff: probably the best of the crew in terms of doing what was needed to make us happy. But seemed harried, like they were always a few people short. Entertainment: their extravaganzas were the quality of a good high school production- in our opinion, a long ways from the quality of off-Broadway. The lead singers all tried to outdo each other, at times nearly shouting. Didnt go to the other evening entertainment, didnt want to be even more dissappointed than we already were. But didnt hear much positive about the shows in general from other passengers. Celebrity Excursions: Overcrowded and overpriced. Only benefit was that if you are late getting back, the ship waits. We did several because we dont plan to visit Italy and France again, but only 2 we remembered: the Dining with Guido because he was so engaged with his people, and the trip to Sorrento because Aldo our guide really did stand out as a generally nice guy who seemed to care about what we saw and did in our free time. Stay away from the soap factory in Marsaille - BORING! Check in/out: Efficient. as expected We werent mistreated at all but we certainly didnt get the special attention we previously had on Celebrity. We once considered Celebrity as the top of the RC fleet. After taking a cruise on a RC ship a year ago, it was obvious to us that Celebrity has either decided to downgrade their services and offerings, or RC has stepped up and now exceeds Celebrity.

A good experience
April
Pros: Restful and Pleasant
Cons: Not enough time in selected ports. I would have preferred to avoid Porta and be in Lisbon at least 2 days
Recommended: Yes
The ship needed upgrading. The balcony was in bad need of painting and showed a lot of rust. The food was acceptable and good but not outstanding. Service was outstanding on all levels . The staff was impeccably dressed, and extremely courteous at all times. The entertainment was good and enjoyable for the exception of one show . Cruise Director outstanding and enthusiastic. The room was very nice and the bedding and linens also very good.

Older Ship
February
Pros: The Retreat.
Cons: Can’t access The Retreat Sundeck if you need a walker, wheelchair etc. I am on a walker, so was only able to manage one trip up to it. That should be corrected!
Recommended: Yes
Unfortunately, the ship is old and that is reflected in the colors, worn fabrics, etc. In our cabin the balcony floor had a large “gash” on the floor. Other than the ship needing a total refurbishment, and some ADA compliance, it was great. We usually do not like ships this large, but The Retreat (Royal Suite) was fabulous, as were our butler, steward, all speciality restaurant crew, The Retreat lounge crew is fantastic too…got me a wheelchair for disembarking! Would definitely go on another Celebrity cruise…,on a brand new ship (The Retreat Sundeck issue apparently has been handled, in The Retreat, in Royal Suite.

Pros: Excellent food, service and entertainment
Cons: Luggage issue

We paid to have our luggage taken from the cruise ship to the airport, and when we arrived home, the airport did not have our luggage and it had to come in on another plane. Luckily the airport delivered it that same night but still a little bit scary.

Best Christmas Ever!
December
Pros: Staff, entertainment, activities, excursions, destinations, food, drinks
Cons: Internet connection and lack of electrical outlets in convenient locations
Recommended: Yes
This was the absolute best Christmas and New Year’s experience ever! What an amazingly fun and relaxing experience!!! I would love to do a cruise like this every year! The only (very few) cons are: lack of outlets in convenient locations in the staterooms and throughout the ship. The restrooms throughout should have a spot to put down our cell phones while we take care of business. We are encouraged to use the Celebrity app which means we carry our phone, which means we need a spot to put it. Also, the wifi connection is horrible. They really need to step up their internet service onboard. Lastly, the cruise lines really need to get the various popular sports packages and channels. I realize it’s a cruise but people still want to see their favorite teams playing. Being held captive by minimal channel availability in this age of technology is crazy!

Exceptional Cruise Experience
November
Pros: Excellent service. Beautifully appointed ship. Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Concierge class is not worth the added expense in comparison to Aqua or Retreat class accommodations
Recommended: Yes
If you are looking for a relaxing cruise vacation that offers what I call an “old school “ cruising experience, then look no further. Celebrity truly delivers a wonderful experience with yjust enough activity to keep you engaged but without distraction. Mostly an all adult environment with plenty of public spaces that offer room to simply enjoy life at sea. The staff and crew go above and beyond to help make the cruise memorable. The Martini Bar and Sky lounge are two favorite locations to enjoy the evening hours and meet up with new friends met along the way.

Wonderful cruise
November
Pros: clean ship, friendly staff, nice time!
Cons: Some excursions were real stretches of the imagination to be worthwhile
Recommended: Yes
The ship was great - the staff were great. Rooms were comfortable, food options were plentiful. Shows were good - some better than others, which is normal. We were on the southern Caribbean itinerary - some of the tours offered by Celebrity were worthless - better to research on your own. In Curacao, we took a Celebrity offered tour to a garden, which was really some ones backyard and wasted our time. On Belize, we took a local water taxi to a beautiful beach and had a great time. Do your research!

Pros: Sails from Ft Lauderdale; Smaller size; Nice to see same staff.
Cons: Constant piped in music in every area of the ship. No quiet time unless you are in your cabin.

Yet again, the distance from the exit area of the ship when in port is much too long a distance for many, and little or no transport is provided.

Returning to Cruising on Celebrity Equinox
May
Pros: Ship, Crew, Entertainers
Cons: COVID on ship, and impacts to ports
Recommended: Yes
Had a great 9 night cruise on Celebrity Equinox. The crew and ship were phenomenal and you could feel how happy everyone was to be back to cruising - crew and passengers. Entertainment was great! The comedian was overshadowed by the great comedy of the cruise director and activities director though. COVID did break out later in the cruise but Celebrity did a great job cleaning the ship and isolating those infected. We chose to avoid shore excursions early in the cruise and instead going it on our own to minimize the risks. It worked out well for us and our friends.

Our first Celebrity cruise aboard Equinox was excellent
May
Pros: Aqua Class benefits were worth every penny! I love the Persian Garden and the Blu dining room.
Cons: I wish that passengers had been required to wear masks in indoor venues. I felt punky yesterday and tested positive for COVID today.
Recommended: Yes
The trivia games were not well geared to the ship's clientele. Eyeballing the passengers, it looked like the average age was in the 50s or 60s. Music from any year in the 21st century is not an "oldie" to today's retirees. As for the Disney trivia game, that's nice that "Erin from Idaho " knew all about Disney; the retiree passengers, not so much. Parents of young children can take their youngsters on RCCL cruises for all that.

Equinox cruise from Ft. Lauderdale 2/11-2/20
February
Pros: Everything was wonderful and we felt safe the entire time on board. The cruise line did a good job in adjusting when Jamica did a last minute change which cost the cruise line a lot of money in fuel costs. No fault of the cruise line.
Cons: Our only negative was the time the Entertainment started in the evening. Our dining time was 6:00 and we could never make the 7:00 Theatre time so we would arrive in theatre at 7:30 and then we would have to come back at 9:00 to see the first half. A simple change of Theatre to 7:30 and 9:30 would address that time problem.

September
Pros: Extremely easy check in . Sky suite gives ample room with very adequate closet space and larger bathroom. private dining room, Luminae and bar, Retreat made such a difference and were well worth the money. I will only travel Sky suites and above from now on .
Cons: Seems that there are less informative activities on sea days and a lot of extra activities carry an additional charge.
Recommended: Yes
I have travelled in Aqua class 4 times and then moved up to Sky suites for the last 3 trips. The difference in price is well worth all the special services you receive and i like the fact that you pay one price and all is included. No shocking $1000++ account to settle at the end. I particularly enjoy a privater restaurant and bar which is much more intimate and quiet. Also a butler and concierge who will make life easier with booking and arranging activities.

Great first time cruise experience for the family!
July
Pros: We all loved the amenities offered as members of the concierge class. The service throughout the ship was excellent! The attached balconies were convenient. The food in the dining room, the buffet and specialty restaurants was fabulous!
Cons: Some of the information shared for tours and activities was conflicting with information in the app or on our tickets. There were some phone messages sent to our staterooms with updated information in some cases but when we weren’t spending time in our rooms we were not always getting the messages.
Recommended: Yes
With this being the first cruise experience for most of our family, the added amenities offered as concierge class were excellent. We loved having the balcony rooms with attached balconies so we had more common space to share. The service of our concierge was fantastic and all service in the dining room, specialty restaurants, buffet and bars felt personalized and always exceptional. We enjoyed activities on sea days, as well as time in the casino, shops, and spa. We took in a show or two most evenings and enjoyed ourselves throughout the cruise. Some of the family may consider cruising again when prior to this first experience they may have hesitated at giving it a try. We had a fabulous family trip!

My wife and I took our first cruise last week. We found the experience to be very pleasant. This was a one week trip. We dropped off our luggage one time and did not touch it until it was time to leave the ship. We had a lot of freedom to do the things we wanted to do or just enjoy the ship. We enjoyed the fitness center and my wife took two Zumba classes. Guest Relations was always available to help us with our questions. They never tired of our asking. We took our own luggage off the ship. It was a very easy departure. My wife loved the trip. She will be back for another cruise.

Pros: Great Service across the board//valet baggage check/classic drink package
Cons: Food/ship condition in public areas/canned music strident and too loud
Recommended: Yes
I wish we had known that Formal Night had changed. We would have packed less. As in much of life, Celebrity seeks the lowest denominator by not enforcing dress code after 5:00pm. The ambience of cruising has been diminished by the relaxed attitude. The entertainment in the public areas is way too loud. I miss the piano, cocktail music in Michael's Club. The Murano was a exquisite as ever, despite the fact that there were women in shorts and men wearing hats at the table...food and service...wonderful The Tuscan Grill needs help...Veal Marsala...nothing be a breaded cutlet (yuck) Caesar salad....fried Calamari...very good Over all food in main dining room (dinner) very mediocre...service fantastic

10 Nights on Equinox
March
Pros: Excellent food and service. Guest entertainers were outstanding. Ports visited.
Cons: Celebrity singers & dancers so-so. The dock location in St. Thomas. The disembarking process was long and seemed very unorganized in the terminal. Had to wait in line on last morning over 45 minutes at guest relations to get a receipt that took 2 minutes to print since none was delivered to the cabin as usual on the last morning. There were only 3 workers and they were extremely slow. One passenger was at the counter the entire 45 minutes I was in line -- thats a problem.
Recommended: Yes
We have cruised many times (32) and have always enjoyed Celebrity and the wonderful ships in her fleet. Equinox was everything we expected it would be as we have sailed her sister Solstice class ships several times also. The ship is in excellent condition, well maintained, the crew and most staff very accommodating. The attention to ship detail is noticed. We have visited the ports of call before and knew what we wanted to do in each port. Having 4 days at sea allowed for relaxing at the pool and enjoying the many different on board activities.

March
Pros: Value and the great service
Cons: nothing major
Recommended: Yes
This is my 40th cruise and 11th with Celebrity. I have sailed on all the Solstice class and there is a consistency of product and service with minor differences. Good mix of passengers from the USA, Canada and Europe. The only negative on all Celebrity ships: no laundry rooms provided for passenger use. To me this is a real negative on cruises more than 7 days. We did received as a perk two free bags of laundry, however, since we are "Elite" members. Chose 5 nights of specialty restaurants during a 10 day cruise. Food is really great, although I do think the menus in Murano and Tuscan Grill need to be updated. Nice crew. The level of service is comparable to a Princess cruise or visa versa. I have taken and continue to sail the Princess product too.

Pros: Great Service--cabins, in Blu and at bars, Nice Ship, Best Cruise Director
Cons: Disappointed in lack of the port of Dominica; Unhappy with dinner menu in Blu
Recommended: Yes
Service was excellent! Skipping the port of Dominica was a huge disappointment! The printed material (Daily Newsletter) for St. Marteen even advised to "Not Wear Jewelry" when leaving the ship. Why would anyone feel safe being off after dark? That night, we did have the Deck Party, with huge throngs of passengers (all on the ship). There was also a strike, and even going to the French side of the island was questionable. Main Dining Room had some better dinner menu options than were being offered in Blu. Upon request (with a little reluctance), we were able to get a few of the options from Main Dining (which were excellent)!

Pros: Attentive and friendly crew
Cons: Main dining room food selections have gone slightly down hill.

Celebrity remains our favorite cruise line. The bottom line is that we booked another cruise while on board. The entertainment (for a cruise ship) was outstanding with one exception. The cruise director (Alejandro) was entertainment in and of himself. The captain made his presence and care for his passengers known. We were disappointed that the fish selection, on one night's menu, was pollack. That's the stuff of which frozen fish sticks are made.

January
Pros: Cruise Director, Friendliness of Staff, Stateroom, Ship Layout
Cons: Inconsistent Food Service and Food Quality
Recommended: Yes
This is our third cruise, first with Celebrity - previously sailed with Princess and Carnival. On the plus side...We loved the layout of the ship, in particular how the public areas (pool, central atrium, etc.) drew people together. Our cruise director was hilarious, tasteful, and seemingly everywhere. The staff were all very professional. The entertainment was very good, especially the guest performers. I personally loved that the Celebrity Equinox has live bands everywhere (including backing up their guest performers), and doesn't resort to using DJs in their club areas. The music director was awesome. We had a veranda stateroom and we loved it. The bathroom layout is exceptional for a such a small space, and we had enough room to store all our clothes and stow our empty suitcases under the bed. The ports were good, and the disembarking/embarking process went very smoothly. The ship's staff seemed very organized throughout the whole experience. On the minus side...We had an initial boarding nightmare (took 2.5 hours) in Port Everglades, but we give Celebrity a little pass on that because the ship was forced to dock in a small loading area, and the dock simply could not handle the volume. Celebrity apologized, but it was a very unpleasant way to begin the trip. The food was the most disappointing part of the trip. We made the mistake of choosing anytime dining and making a 6:30 reservation for the whole trip. That meant we were constantly moved around for the first half of the trip, and the service was not great. One night, we waited over an hour for our main course to come after we had already eaten our appetizers. We sat down at 6:30 and rushed out at 8:45 to get to the show. To the ship's credit, the restaurant manager we spoke with tried his best to follow up with us and provide a better environment. We eventually settled in one section for the last four nights, and the service was better. But the food quality was inconsistent, several pastas overcooked, and several main dishes were bland. We liked the food and the service better on both our other cruises.

Cons: Excursions too rushed with very little time for shopping or sightseeing

I felt that the vessel had exceptional facilities, provided many benefits and activities, and was well organized. Pros: Nice sized inside stateroom and great entertainment
Cons: Price and quality of specialty restaurant Tuscan Grille

We have asked Celebrity for a refund of the $90 we paid for our meal at the Tuscan Grille as it was mediocre at best. We feel the extra charges for the specialty restaurants in general are getting to be a bit much. Also there was a big percentage of foreigners on this cruise and the meals in the main dining room seemed to be geared more for them.

March
Pros: Good weather and a very nice ship.
Cons: The Emergency Lifeboat Drill missed the "emergency" portion.
Recommended: Yes
Celebrity Cruises need to focus on their attention to detail, especially when dealing with the Lifeboat drill. My rating for that activity = C-. Visiting Puerto Limon, Costa Rica on a Sunday morning is not a very good idea. The whole town is asleep. The leaders in Cozumel need to focus on cleaning up the sea weed off the beaches, as they were no where close to what the brochures indicated. Cartagena, Colombia as usual did not disappoint. Celebrity could have spent 2 days in Cartagena and skipped Puerto Limon entirely. A visit to Panama City was worth it.

June
Pros: The whole Celebrity experience. They do everything the right way.
Cons: The ten days went too fast.
Recommended: Yes
We, wife, myself, and two grandsons, took the Greek and Italy cruise on the Celebrity Equinox in June, 2014. Our trip began with a 3 day pre-cruise stay in Istanbul, our embarkation port. The pre-cruise included three nights at the Senatus Hotel plus a one-day tour of the city. There was plenty of extra time to learn about and enjoy the mystique of Istanbul. The Senatus was located within walking distance of many attractons including the Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosque. We recommend looking no further than the restaurant at the Senatus as it was the best we found. The cruise stops included Mykonos, Athens, Malta, Sicily, and Sorrento each of which had its own individual highlights. The excursions we took gave us a good taste of each of the stops on the cruise. Celebrity offers great service, wonderful dining, terrific entertainment, and the cabin accommodations were superb as well as more spcacious than we experienced on previous cruises. This was a special trip for us and Celebrity certainly enhanced our travel experience.
