Art and Architecture in Barcelona (8 hours)

Highlights:
An architectural delight awaits you today in Barcelona, one of the most exciting cities in Europe.  Receive a warm greeting at the port by your private guide and driver and commence your full-day tour with a visit to Gaudi's masterpiece, the impressive, but unfinished Sagrada Familia.  Although work started on this project in 1882, this iconic church is not expected to be complete until 2028!

Kotor: Highlights of Montenegro - 8 hours

Kotor sightseeing

This tour will start with a meeting with your guide. Kotor is located at the end of Boka Kotorska (Bay of Boka) where Mount Lovcen and the sea cuddle the town. After the sack of Rome, in 410AD, Ravenna became the center of the Western Roman Empire; situated on the Adriatic Sea, it was already an important Roman naval base. In 476AD, it was invaded by the Goths, but they were also Christian and continued the embellishment started by the Romans.
By the mid-6^th century, it was again annexed, but this time by the eastern empire of Byzantium and it is the legacy of these three empires that make it such an incredible city to visit. Here, you will see not ruins, but whole buildings, fantastically adorned with mosaics. In the little San Vitale, are a set of mosaics that are generally acknowledged to be the crowning achievement of Byzantine art extant anywhere in the world. This is but one, there are no fewer than eight buildings listed by UNESCO as being world heritage buildings.

Split: Walking Tour - 4 hours

Start the walking tour with an exploration of the Palace of the Emperor Diocletian which lies at the heart of Split, this palace was built in 295 BC. See Peristil Square where the Emperor made his speeches as well as the mausoleum of the Roman Emperor which been transformed into a Catholic church. Croatia: Dubrovnik and its Golden Age / Walking Tour

Explore Dubrovnik from a different perspective and discover not only the historic sights and architecture but also the most memorable panoramas around the city. Your tour starts with panoramic sightseeing; from the New Bridge of Dr. Franjo Tudjman to Srdj hill and an astonishing view of the whole city of Dubrovnik, its walls, and the sea around together with the Elaphite Islands. You will then drive further to see the other side of the city walls, Zarkovice, and the Dubrovnik archipelago. Your driver will then take you back to Dubrovnik where you will meet your guide and enter through the Pile or Ploce Gate (two main entrances in the Old city). Along the way, you will see St. Savior’s, a grandiose Franciscan and Dominican church, the crown jewels of Dubrovnik, Knezev Dvor, the Rector’s Palace Old Port, squares, monuments, and fountains. The walls around the Old City are an optional extension and not a part of this walking tour. Crete: Knossos - Archanes - Heraklion Museum -5 hours

Guests will be met by our English speaking guide to commence the tour. Upon completion of the tour, transfer will be provided back to the ship.

We will first visit the Archaeological Museum in the town centre and then continue with the exploration of the ruins of Knossos Palace. The palace is one of the major must-see archaeological sites in Greece, presenting visitors with a rare glimpse into Minoan civilization. Accompanied by a knowledgeable, qualified archaeological guide who will offer in-depth personal attention, you will browse through the restored palace. By examining the structures the Minoans lived in, you will have the best avenue for piecing together the threads of the Great Minoan civilization. After a walk through the award winning historically restored village of Archanes, you can enjoy lunch in its picturesque main square, before returning back to the pier.
