Leaving Heraklion Port, you will head inland. The archaeological site of Knossos is at 5 Kms. southeast of Heraklion city. The name Knossos is mentioned by Homer, who speaks of Knossos as a big city. The palace was built on the Kephala hill and had easy access to the sea and the Cretan interior. Drive to Al Baleed Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ruins of the ancient port city of Zafar, dating back to the 12 ^th Century. Visit the Museum of the Frankincense Land within the park to learn about the history of the region's frankincense trade.

Head to Al Mughsail Beach, located approximately 40 kilometers west of Salalah. Enjoy the scenic drive along the coastal road, with panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and rugged cliffs.
