This Wine Estate is mentioned for the first time in a document dated April 1738, where it is referred to as "the Pacheca" because it was owned by D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that Dom José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to develop his interest in oenology, bought the property and began to devote to the winemaking business.

This Wine Estate is mentioned for the first time in a document dated April 1738, where it is referred to as "the Pacheca" because it was owned by D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that Dom José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to develop his interest in oenology, bought the property and began to devote to the winemaking business.

As the name Graham would suggest, Johnny's family has a background in the Port trade: his family owned Graham, one of the most well-known of the Port houses which was sold to the Symingtons in 1970. Churchill's Port grew from John Graham's desire to continue his family's Port making tradition by setting up a company to produce his own, individual style of wine. It was his wife, Caroline Churchill, who provided the company with its name. Churchill's is today positioned in the industry as a high-quality boutique Port and Douro Wine Company, specializing in premium Port and Douro Wine categories. You will be invited to a lectured wine tasting with some of their best wines.
Lunch (not included) will be served at an informal and cheerful restaurant whit natural blend of the traditional and the modern. The cuisine, largely Portuguese inspired, is nevertheless influenced by travels abroad.
After lunch, enjoy a private guided tour to Porto earliest known Jewish quarter, built inside the old city wall, in what is now Rua de Santa Ana, close to Rua Escura and Largo do Colegio. It is still possible today to appreciate the mediaeval layout of these streets, not very far from the Cathedral, a masterpiece of Romanesque-Gothic architecture. Follows a leisured walk at Ribeira Square, a private visit to Lello Library and Stock Exchange Palace.

Shipboard Credit for Category 5 Staterooms: a €80 shipboard credit (one per stateroom) is provided to guests booked in a Category 5 stateroom to be used for onboard purchases or services (spa, laundry, gift shop, etc.)
Please note: Children under 18 must be booked in a cabin with at least one adult. Accommodations for families of 3 or 4 in Categories 1 through 5 consist of two adjacent, but not connecting, double cabins. Triple and quadruple accommodations in Category 5 consist of a suite featuring a pillow-top queen-sized bed (with optional twin-bed capacity) and a full-sized pull-out couch. Please note that Category 5 suites can accommodate a maximum of 3 adults over the age of 18, or of 2 adults plus 2 children (only available on Bridges family cruises).
Recommended age: 8+: minimum age for our Tauck Bridges river cruises is 4 years
Gratuities to Tauck Cruise Director, Tauck Directors, local guides, drivers & ship staff included: Cruise price per person, based on double occupancy, includes cruise fare, most meals, port charges, shore excursions, and applicable fuel surcharges. Unlimited complimentary beverages aboard ship include regional wine, beer and premium spirits in addition to specialty coffee, water and soft drinks.
Itinerary Changes: Although not expected, Tauck reserves the right to alter the sequence of ports or omit or substitute scheduled ports or attractions at any time without prior notice.
Shore Excursion Selection: Tauck will contact guests 90 days prior to departure to assist with shore excursion selections.
Note: This cruise includes a fair amount of walking in each city. *For activities marked with an asterisk (*) in day descriptions, participation is at your own risk and a signed liability waiver will be required.
